Website building - how much $$ ?
ok, after i emailed the freeriderMX mag, and they liked the site, the editor referrred some guy to me, and he wants me to make him a site (he make supercross & FMX courses or somethin)
He said hed pay me for it, but how much should i be charging?? Ive only been makin sites for fun, its not like a job , so i have no idea how much to chrge ![]() any ideas? he just wants the site built, and hell maintain it himself |

i'm kinda in the same situation crusty, my boss would say don't touch anything under $1000us.

I agree with Bryan but you have to know your stuff if you charge good $. I paid a person 20 bucks US per hour for the hessian aggression web site and did all of the graphics and layout for her. She had to make our ideas work and had several good ideas of her own too. Total cost was only about 400 US for her work. She went to school on it to learn new things and did not charge for time spent learning.

just ask for a price thats way higher than what you'd accept for doing it, you can always go down

Hey crusty if ya need and tech ####, i'll do it. I make my sites for everyone basically free.
I usually just get a shirt or some stickers or something. No more free sites tho, for a site, $300 AUS. |

Professional rate
If you shop around, the industry standard rate for competent, experienced web design with no foo foo like shopping carts and stuff like that goes for $39/hr US. A bit higher and lower for normal competitive rate type stuff. That is what we have found after doing a LOT of shopping around.

Its no that hard
If you have an idea, then get to work, your site layout can be done in 5 minutes. I did my new one (crusty go on MSN I wanna show you it!) in about 30 mins, and its fairly clean and I like it, thinking of an idea is the hard part.Just do it yourself. |
