well, i know what you are talking about but i have never had it happen to me because of my bike. i have spent way too much time in hoskittles because of concussions. the last time i went i couldn't move the whole left side of my body. it wasn't until after that my mom told me that if i got any more i wouldn't be riding if i lived under her roof.

i didn't cry but i was kinda pissed off... just thought i would add that.

Uhhhh... damn. Hate to be the jerk here, but no. And not just no... but hell no. I'm not a poontang. There are more important things in life to worry about. I've been bummed out when my pile of crap was broken... especially after I just dumped a bunch of money into it. But cried? Hell no. I figure I'll save that for when my parents die or something.

Instead of crying about it, get a second job and fix it.

ETA: If I cried in my girlfriends arms over a dirtbike, she'd probably slap me and we wouldn't be dating anymore.

Are you implying that crying over a friggin' dirtbike is normal for a 19 year old?

Yeah actually I am, how about you swallow your pride and give the kid a break. If riding is what you really love and what makes you happy in life, then it's okay to cry about it, especially if your caught up in a bad financial situation. It just shows how much he appreciates being able to ride. Not everyone has a sponsor or mommy and daddy to pay for their bike getting repaired and whatnot.

Theres no set of rules that says what people can and can't cry about.

If the kid was injured in such a way that he was never able to ride a dirtbike again, I would agree with you. However, shedding tears over a replaceable material possession shows signs of extreme immaturity. People have sacrificed much more that a friggin' dirtbike and not let it 'ruin' their lives.

My truck is my pride and joy at the moment. I love the thing damn near more than life itself, and I just made a stupid mistake a few days ago and drove the thing into a steel pole. There is $1000+/- worth of damage. I'm not happy about it. My door rubs my fender and scrapes paint every time I open it. But guess what? It happened, and there's nothing I can do about it. Why waste my time and tears crying over it when it can be fixed/replaced? You know what I did? I said "damn, that effin' sucks" and let it bum me out for a day. Then I picked up more hours at work to help pay for it.

Replaceable material possessions should not be enough to drive a man of 19 to tears. I can't think of a single material thing that I own that I couldn't stand to lose, barring maybe a house or place to sleep. This kids life is pretty fantastic if his biggest problem is fixing his effing dirtbike. What's to cry about?

haha! Woah! For once I have to agree with Wauss. Dude, no offence or anything, but maybe you should seek professional help. It's not normal.

I did a show last march where I completly destroied my wrist. So bad that it only moves about half of what it used to. Chances are I can never ride ramps again. Did I cry? Hell no. I adapted, and now here I am. A 4.0 honors student. Grow up man, life isnt that bad. Then again, you could always go listen to Dashboard...

You obviously completely missed my point. It's not the broken dirtbike, that can be replaced. It's the fact that he cant ride for a long time. Ive seen grown men cry because they couldnt ride for a certain amount of time due to injuries. Maybe you just dont put your heart into riding so you wouldnt even undeerstand anyways.

No, I don't put my heart into riding. Anymore. Dude I've been there, give me a break. I also put my heart into other things these days. If something holds me back from doing something I love, I don't cry about it like a vagina. I do whatever I can to get back to doing it as soon as I can. I have more important things to do. There is something wrong with you if you cry because you can't effing ride FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

Whatever. You're about as fun to argue with as a rock. Later.

Do not cry about it, that will produce nothing. Here is something that will. Make therapy and rehabilitation a full time career. As for your bike, that should be the least of your worries.
