Good device to keep in your gear bag
These would be pretty good to keep in your gear bag. Being someone that has had quite a few injuries, I know that instant stability on your way to the hospital would be good to have.

Me too. Moving a compound fractured bone can be deadly if you move it through an artery. can just be a pain if it does more soft tissue damage. Kind of 50-50 I guess.

Every time a paramedic moves someone with a supposed broken bone, they use one of these. Seen it about 30-35 times at my work in the last 5 years. Someone had to have one put on actually today with a obvious dislocated knee.
I dont think i would get one but not a bad idea to have if you like being prepared. On a side note, I have a buddy that keeps a portable traction device for a femur in his truck when he's out BASE jumping in the boonies. |
