Growing apart from FMX
I noticed on the OG thread that several of us have grown apart from FMX, and I was curious about what made you lose interest and if there's something else now that you really love.
I've always felt bad from drifting away from the scene because I wound up being more interested in things I knew my friends in college liked. A couple of them gave me crap for liking extreme sports and I let that get to me. It also didn't help that I started to have zero time for anything other than school work and theatre. There's a bunch of things I've always been interested in, but very few get me excited the way FMX did in the past. The closest things now are belly dance and burlesque. I find the dancers as inspiring as FMX riders (in a different way since I've done both types of dancing... yet both are visually impressive). I always used it as my stress relief from my depression but now it doesn't make me feel any better unless I ride alone. I've since gotten into painting and music but I still ride from time to time just not as serious about it as I used to be which makes it a lot more enjoyable
