Wait.....riding FMX is dangerous?????
What is up Ya'll?
Ok to start, Cam Sinclair. Get well bro!!!!!
That was a hard hit, but he is a tough guy and will pull through.
Here we go!
When Cam and other pro/am riders take hit like that, the FreestyleMTX.com forum is always flooded with get wells and prayers. I love seeing this and it's like all members on this site are a family.
HOWEVER!!! There is always the guy who starts up the is this sport to dangerous discussion.
Look, FMX is dangerous. But so is driving down the interstate during rush hour to go watch a FMX demo or comp. I guess what I am saying is LIFE IS DANGEROUS. All extreme athletes know the risks of thier sports. But does society know the risks of their every day actions. Look at the bottom of this article!
The following was taken from:

Here's a look at some of the highlights of the NHTSA's 2008 Traffic Safety Annual Assessment:
An estimated 2.35 million people were injured in car accidents in 2008, the lowest estimate since the NHTSA began collecting injury data in 1988.
DUI fatalities were down 9.7 percent in 2008.
Five States had reductions of over 200 fatalities in 2008: California, North Carolina, Illinois, Florida, and Virginia.
90 percent of the fatality reduction was in passenger vehicles, which account for more than 90 percent of registered vehicles in the U.S.
Light-truck driver and passenger fatalities were down for the third consecutive year in 2008.
And now the bad news when it comes to traffic safety trends: motorcycle accidents continued to climb in 2008, as they have for the last 11 years, according to NHTSA data. The 5,290 motorcycle accident deaths in 2008 accounted for 14 percent of all traffic fatalities for the year, and while motorcycle registrations have increased, the rate of fatal motorcycle accidents has gone up.
Now that is a sad statistic. I know that statistic was based on insured road bikes, but I wanted to show that statistic to prove how dangerous it is driving in your motor vehicle on the way to ballet class, to soccer practice or to piano lessons. And I am not sure what the stats are on fatal extreme sport accidents but I am pretty sure it wouldn't even be close to those numbers given by the NHTSA on motorcycle deaths.
I don't want to go on forever, so to sum up. Please stop questioning the progression and growth of this beautiful sport.
Cheers,
