i was thinking about building a ramp. but i can't really afford one because I'm tryng to earn enough money for a new bike. Anyways I was wondering if it would be a good idea to build one out of wood. Or if it would be cheaper.

i was in the same situation you are....
i made plans for a wood version of sliders REV. 3.....im building it now......its cheap....but the bad part is youll be lucky to get 1 season out of it unless you store it indoors....
im just gunna cover my ramps with a tarp!

sweet.. I think a wood ramp should last a couple years. cause I have a wooden bmx ramp and it sits out all winter. You just paint it with a good outdoor paint.

If u gotta use wood, just make sure that everytime u go out to jump it, check it before hitting it.

Like make sure theres no white ants, and just make sure its sturdy :)

Damn right Crusty - look out of the white ants or they'll be having a big laugh when you hit it in 3rd and headplant into the dirt...better yet - build a metal one! :D

i was (WAS) gonna make a wooden ramp till i came here lol but you gotta worry about warping, splintering, "lil white ants", sun all that crapola i would try and get some pressure treated wood its way nice and stands up to insects water and all that really well

No MIKEY means that he is building the entire design of it. he is using all the measurements and stuff but he is just doing it with wood and not steel. andi gotta help the damn cheeky monley build the thing! ahaha

like johnny airtime said:
"You might as well spend a month building a snowman. The ramp will last about as long as a snowman if you make the frame out of wood"
