p00g, can you post songs here? Read your reviews page and we have the same taste in music it seems. I don't know if it is copyrighted or whatever, but I make MP3's all the time. Can you pick a song of the week and post it?

Because this is a fairly high traffic site, he would need to get permission from every single artist/record label to post the mp3...otherwise im sure someone would sue :(

yeah....what crusty said. even when you think your sharing music...your most likely breaking some kind of laws...so i dont know if i would want to get involved with that. you could always do what cody (waussind) does and link a song..if you know where to get it.

I really like Box Full Of Sharp Objects by The Used. I think it's probably the only one I really listen to. That one and then Maybe Memories. Probably because they're the only 2 that I have (thanks to CanadianMX).
The other 'mainstream' song I've been listening to a lot lately is Chevelle - The Red. I like it for some reason... but I hate the Linkin Park ending.
The other songs I've been listening to a lot lately are:
Dead Poetic - Burgundy
Dead Poetic - August Winterman
Both are from the 'Four Wall Blackmail' disc. I suggest you pick it up. They are great. Link for MP3:

anything 80s...we just did our decade presentation in history today and for the past couple of weeks I've been listening to 80s songs to get me in the mood. If I had to narrow the list down, it'd be: "Material Girl" by Madonna (we got the whole class singing it), "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett, "White Wedding" by Billy Idol, "Hungry Like the Wolf" by Duran Duran, and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" by Pat Benatar.

i wish they (along with many others) would come to Australia, so i could witness, and make that judgement for myself, but that's how i don't see their suckiness, but i can understand, because you've witnessed it...i'm just used to their CD's...CD's are all i have, and their CD's are perfect, obviously
but come on, Nile and Hate Eternal are the bands that have kept US Brutal Death alive. US Death (progression-wise) was basically down the ####ter before they've come along. Morbid Angel have kind of lost their touch, Cannibal Corpse have just run out of ideas, Incantation are still doing the same thing etc etc....you know what i mean?
Nile's concept is just so different, there's many death metal bands with a cultural influence. But, back to the point, i can believe you if you believe they suck, i can't make that live judgement.

please never forget Dying Fetus when you speak of american death metal. i cant think of one other american death metal band that has kept it as brutal as they have. no mainstream media would ever except a band as insane as DF. they're music is perfect...and their live show is something to be witnessed. they can show anyone that metal is NOT all studio production..that humans really can be THAT talented and THAT good at their instruments. let most people listen to DF and tell me how many say the drumming cant be done by a human...it HAS to be a drum machine. then take them to a show and watch them crap themselves when they witness how F'n good they REALLY are. Morbid Angel will never hold a candle to DF in my mind.

I love fordirelifesake. I have only heard one of their songs from that split you mentioned... We Burn In Our Own Comfort. It's such a great song. I really like the rest of their stuff though too. I just need to get my hands on a full cd. I've only got random stuff from them.
I haven't heard much of alexisonfire. What I've heard hasn't been bad... I can definitely tolerate it. I like .44 Caliber Love Letter though. But don't think I've really heard enough from them to make a really good judgement of them.

yeah that video rocks... the jimi hendrix riff... i dont know what one your talkin about.... but they are one of the best bands around right now... they are straight up old rock style... they dont mix much... they record on old school 8-track and vinyl, and have a really diverse sound.. from blues, to folk, to straight up grungy rock!

So i have had a listen to the new album at a mate's house...I'll get it, but not right now, later down the track maybe. It's certainly VERY different. Even being the soft album, it's completely different to any soft stuff they've done before.
It's good, i like it, on a first listen, the standout tracks were To Rid The Disease, and Death Whispered a Lullaby i believe.
As happens when you listen to an album for the first time, there's so much more to pick up the next time you listen to it, and not everything sticks...but i'm definately going to get it. Very glad this is only going to be a one off, but it's a good experiment for Opeth, which they've always been good at.

Yeh?? I was guessing the stuff to sound a little like A Fair Judgement on Deliverance, minus the heavy section towards the end.
I thought it might be alot like A Fair Judgement also because the albums were recorded at the same time. Compared to older soft stuff like Credence, Face Of Melinda, Benighted etc (all minus any heavy parts too)

Well..
As I Lay Dying - 94 Hours
As I Lay Dying - Forever
I think these two songs are going to be a couple of my favorites of all time. I haven't stopped listening to them yet.
They Came Burning - A Song For A Rainy Day
That one has been playing a lot lately, too. The end rocks. It breaks down... and the guy's like "My life and love... was to see... to see you... to see you..." and then the music stops, and he screams "CRY YOUR EFFING EYES OUT!!!!!!!" and the music comes back in and it keeps breaking down. its rad.
