there was a time when i was too afraid to listen to my dad's music...
now i'm not ashamed...this stuffs, well, ROCKS!...
i've just recently pulled out the old turntable, and thrown on a few records, MAN.
Deep Purple, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zepplin, Queen, Cream, Sabbath, Frank Zappa, Rolling Stones, The Who, Spinal Tap, The Grateful Dead...that's what i'm talkin about...YEH!
ah, the bands that started it all (even though i was not around to witness it)

a lot of those bands are amazing...what im sick of is people saying that they influenced everything. like no one can be original anymore...people are always trying to compare bands to the stuff that came before them. im not saying any of you are doing that...its just a thought that popped into my head when i read this thread. so..sorry about how random this post was....Zepplin is amazing..."When The Levy Breaks" is one of my favorite songs ever....CCR is cool too...but id have to say that Steve Miller is my favorite out of all of them. :D

Vinyl??? It's too bad most stereos these days don't have a needle - If I want to listen to my records, I have to stop over Moms house... I definitely Have to invest in a turntable.

yeh when i said "ah, the bands that started it all"...it wasn't meant in the influencial light...but i too am sick of people saying they influenced they way rock is. they may have started off rock, but that's not the same thing as influencing.
