ok..i stole this write-up part from www.victoryrecords.com cuz im too sick to write much on my own.

"Depression, pain, desire and retribution procreate in a dark, lonely corner of your psyche. It’s that sordid piece of yourself that you try and hide, deny and bury. Orange County California’s Atreyu is embroiled in the struggle to break free from this disenfranchising abyss. Atreyu has taken a new direction in the world of melodic hard rock. They make extreme a little more accessible, emo a little more haunting and severe backed up with a powerful hardcore foundation. The album was recorded at the legendary Trax East (Hatebreed, Snapcase, Catch 22) and produced by Erik Rachel."

as stated above..the band is from SoCal...i never would have guessed that. they have no traits of a typical SoCal band. they sound like something that would hail from my side of the country...typically breeding a darker sound than what comes from SoCal. but it's really good. check it out.

the album is called "Suicide Notes & Butterfly Kisses".

enjoy.

yeah..the name rules. pronouncing it is the hard part. most people dont get it right. its "a-tray-u". most people say it as, "A-tree-u". and yeah..they arent the best...but they are really good in my book. for being a newer band...the upcoming stuff should just get better and better. the singer's voice needs to develop a bit...and then they'll be all set.

Yeah the music is pretty tight, but the vocals need some refinement... all in all not too bad for a newer band. The name comes from a movie I've seen... some kind of fantasy/sci-fi flick that much I know.... Dune, I think....
