aight..for anyone living remotely close to Connecticut. Killswitch Engage is playing their first HEADLINING tour. they played Syracuse, NY tonight...im waiting for the report on how it was. but anyways..they play tomorrow night (friday oct. 4th) in New London, CT at the El-N-Gee club. i dont think they are selling advanced tickets...and its not a big place...so get there early if you plan on going. ill post some more details. it should be cheap....$8 er so.
either way...ive seen them a couple times....cody (SevenInd) has seen them....they ROCK live. so if you can...make it down there and check it out. i know i am.
they are also playing sat. night at the Palladium in Worcester, MA and sunday night at the Knitting Factory in New York City..if either of those are closer to you.

p00g0blin
October 4th, 2002, 01:46 PM
www.killswitchengage.com
they are a "MetalCore" band from Boston, MA. USA. they rule. they have some downloads on that site. if you have a decent connection...go to "downloads" and then to "mp3/videos" and then to the "metalfest" video. that one rules. all of their stuff is good. mad heavy with some melodic chorus parts. very cool all around band. :) if you have a fast connection (i know i already said that....) then hit me up on AIM and ill send you the whole album. p00g0blin is the AIM name.
ps-i hate the word, "metalcore". just couldnt think of anything better. :D
drew
October 4th, 2002, 01:50 PM
fast connection....PAH!!! I wish :(
I will check out there site though. Maybe i can find the album to d/l somewhere else (Kazaa or morpheous maybe)
And what the #### is 'MetalCore'?? never heard that phrase b4:confused:
p00g0blin
October 4th, 2002, 01:55 PM
a mix between "metal" and "hardcore". fusing the two music genres together. basically it means its heavy as hell..with lots of chuggy breakdowns and hardcore rugged vocals...along with the metal screaming. and you cant forget the emo singing parts. ugh...you'll just have to listen to it. :)

October 5th, 2002, 12:38 PM
Thanks Jeff!! Some of those are near me. How would i find out more?? Any ideas? I'll check ticketmaster, maybe they'll have more details. But thanks again, definatly try and check em out! :D
p00g0blin
October 5th, 2002, 12:54 PM
check www.ticketmaster.com or www.tickets.com
im not sure which one will be carrying those events. last nights show didnt even have advance tickets...which was nice. i hate paying the stupid insane service charges of ticketmaster. tickets.com is not as bad...but its still extra money yer paying. anyways...check those sites and see if they are carrying the show. if you cant find what you need...call the venue itself..that is always a good bet. they can tell you ticket prices, time of show, supporting bands, whatever. aight...good luck...do yer best to get out there and see them. it will definetly be worth it. i promise. if you like them recorded...you will absolutely love them live.

October 5th, 2002, 12:58 PM
Im gonna try and catch the manchester university one. Only prob is its a university- it might be students only...have to check on monday
Other then that...i tried ticketmaste.co.uk, and they only had one of the gigs advertised - makes no sense, why only 1
I'll try and find out the other venues phone numbers, and give em a call next week - real busy next week though so it might be a bit tricky, but im gonna try anyway :D
p00g0blin
October 5th, 2002, 01:04 PM
why would it be students only? ive been to shows at colleges before...and they have never been student only. i dont know if england is any different.
yeah...ticketmaster is weird. they have tickets for tonights KsE show in Worcester, MA and they didnt have them for last nights show in New London, CT. why? i dont know.
i think its up to the promoter who they want to sell tickets through...or maybe the venue picks.
drew
October 5th, 2002, 01:09 PM
Its not the university thats putting on the show. Its the Students Union. You have to be a member to get tickets - or at least be a guest of a member (i'll have to see if my friend in Manchester knows any students up there)
Yeah, i dont like ticketmaster. They dont have the events i wanna go see. But i dont think there's anything else in this country like them (i could be wrong - its known to happen!!)
p00g0blin
October 5th, 2002, 01:12 PM
www.tickets.com doesnt sell tickets over there? i think they used to be ProTix...i think.
drew
October 5th, 2002, 01:18 PM
Hmmm. Well yes they do. They're URL changes to www.uk.tickets.com. BUT for Killswitch Engage. They ONLY have tonights event listed. In MA. *Humph* What good is that??! I mean i cant fly out there in time!! Darn it!!
drew
October 5th, 2002, 01:22 PM
AND get this...the one advertised on ticketmaster, doesnt correspond to the list you posted up there ^^ It says its in London on November 26th, but up there it says its in Exeter....Stoopid ticketmaster
drew
October 5th, 2002, 01:32 PM
Anyway i'll sort that out next week if i can.
But Jeff, can you post up a track list of their album(s) so i can see what tracks go with what album and so i can see what im missing??
I've only got two tracks at the moment, but im working on the d/l :D
p00g0blin
October 5th, 2002, 02:54 PM
yep. here is the tracklist for "Alive Or Just Breathing".
1. numbered days
2. self revolution
3. fixation on the darkness
4. my last serenade
5. life to lifeless
6. just barely breathing
7. to the sons of man
8. temple from within
9. the element of one
10. vide infra
11. without a name
12. rise inside
13. in the unblind (bonus) ***this song is NOT on the retail version of the CD...but it is available online if you search for it. it is a remake of a song off their first album....this version is much better. ***

October 5th, 2002, 02:57 PM
thanks Jeff. Got 5 tracks now. But kazaa has screwed up. :(
p00g0blin
October 5th, 2002, 03:49 PM

drew
October 5th, 2002, 03:52 PM
na uh :( Cant even find that track. Its struggling to find them all. And the ones that i havent downloaded yet, are really slow, like 5 hours for 1 mp3!! Stoopid Kazaa!!!
Of the ones downloaded so far 'The Element of One' is my fav, followed by 'life is lifeless'...i really am loving these tracks :D

October 6th, 2002, 07:28 PM
very welcome. :)
on the KsE note...
the friday night show killed me. i took so many shots to the head...it was F'n ridiculous. i was up against the stage....i got kicked...elbowed...punched...climbed on...and half the sweat on me was from Howard (the singer)..who spent most of the show right in front of me. that was awesome..the mic was in my hand for a part in every song. the downside is getting sweated on by a big metal singer. i also have cuts and bruises on me...it was definetly hectic...but it RULED nonetheless. awesome show. so anyways....i wake up saturday and im so beat. i was drunk at the show and rocking out as hard as i could...so needless to say i was dead the next day. saturday night comes...i go meet up with some kids. the first thing i hear is..."hey you wanna go up to Mass. and see KsE?". oh man...i was really not ready to get into that again. but im dumb...so i say yes. we hop in the car and hit the road. the whole car ride im thinking about the insanity im about to put myself through. and i was getting more and more psyched. so, an hour later we're there. why no one thought to call ahead about tickets is beyond me. the damn thing was sold out. i now hate KsE for getting popular. well..no i dont. i saw them twice in 6 days..i should be happy..and i am. everyone should go see them if you get the chance.
damn KsE selling out shows...damn myself for this pointless story.
a little FYI. i talked to the bass player for KsE on friday night...he told me that they should have a new EP out around the turn of the new year. that may or may not happen....but we should all be looking for 6-8 brand new KsE songs in the next couple months. hells yeah. :D

October 6th, 2002, 07:35 PM
Jeff,
Finally got to download some KsE Mp3s - absolutely SICK!!!!! Man now I wish I had last Friday off....
But on the insane show note, once you get to a certain age getting up front becomes less of a priority - staying in one piece becomes the primary concern. I like to remember the shows I go to, and not getting a concussion is a good way to do that...:D Plus I'm so skinny the lads in the pit could pick me up and spear the bass drum with me!!!! I usually just sit in the back and find a good view of the stage, pop in the old ear plugs(I'm partially deaf too...) and enjoy the show...
p00g0blin
October 6th, 2002, 07:45 PM
its rad that everyone is loving them so much. i have absolutely nothing to do with KsE..besides being a fan...but i get a kick out of promoting them to cool people. so thanks to everyone that took the time to download, listen and love that band. :)
yeah...the pit is usually of NO concern to me. im tall enough to usually see over the crowd...and i usually rock the ear plugs too...my hearing is really shotty as well. some bands just kind of pull me up front. Avail...my favorite band...was the first band to ever do that to me. since then only a couple have that power over me....avail, hotwatermusic (show next sunday :D :D), face to face, the haunted, in flames....and obviously KsE. for those bands..i will risk body and hearing to have the time of my life. cuz i know that only those bands can provide me with a show experience of that magnitude. im 23...ive been to so so so many shows....so its nothing new to me....but sometimes that vibe that hit you when you were at your very first show comes back and grabs you all over again. i will never deny that feeling...ill deny my safety and go rock out. :D i also never really engage in pit activities..besides being up front were it all goes down. i usually just throw my arm up and scream along with the band. my definition of "rocking out". i dont get in the middle and TRY to hit people...but you GET hit..and sometimes you just have to hit back. oh well.
p00g0blin
October 6th, 2002, 07:50 PM
and has anyone watched the MetalFest video on www.killswitchengage.com ? its awesome...its for Life To Lifeless. filmed at the MetalFest that happened a few months back....worcester, MA. anyways...good vid. obsolete only because it features the old singer. but he was awesome.
so..go to the site mentioned above..then to "Downloads" and then when the little menu pops up...slide over to "MP3/Videos". and then to the MetalFest vid posted on the right hand side. enjoy. :)

Sick dude, Sick - well p00 you have made me a fan, the $$ is already spent as soon as I can get to the Music Outlet.... They would be sick to see with Shadows Fall...
p00g0blin
October 6th, 2002, 08:35 PM
that would be a good show. im not a huge Shadows Fall fan...but they would be a good addition to a KsE show. so far....the duo of In Flames and KsE has been the best ive seen. they were perfect compliments to each other's music.
on that note...another good show pairing is coming up this weekend. sunday night at the Palladium in Worcester, MA is Hot Water Music and Coheed & Cambria. that show is going to be simply amazing. it will be the 11th time i see Hot Water....and they get better everytime. i think enough has been said about Coheed already...they are amazing. plain and simple. so you should go. :) but if you do....get tickets ahead of time....there is a good chance that place will sell out.

i should start a new thread...but im lazy.
hot water music's site is....
http://hwm.indiepress.com/
and Coheed's site is listed in my sig. check them out. Coheed is NOT heavy...they just rule on a whole new level. :)
Hot Water Music is a wonderful fusion of hardcore, emo, and straight up rock and roll. the bass player is amazing. the whole band is amazing. dual vocals by chris and chuck. chuck's voice is not typical at all. very scratchy...some people hate it....most love it. its different...in a good way. so check the sites...download some stuff...tell me what you think.
pic of chuck from HWM.
p00g0blin
October 6th, 2002, 08:41 PM
another pic of chuck. chuck is the lady killer. i stopped taking girls to see HWM. all i here is how chuck is the hottest man alive....hearing that through the whole show and then on the drive home just gets annoying. :)

Columbus day doesn't count as a holiday where I work - the whole plant will be open... I work just about every big holiday - X-mas, Thanksgiving, Easter... I don't complain, they pay me double time and a half for it:D And I work 2nd shift so I still have the day to do stuff...
