I built a replica of rev. 1 in shop class. its pretty sweet. to bend the metal i built all the support and the rest of the frame then welded the peice of metal that i was going to use (a peice a 1" square tubing) to the top support. the tubing was 20 feet long so it bent easily. after i welded it to the top i got my friends to pull it to flush with all of my other supports the tack welded it. if you dont have alot of people maybe you could use a come-along???? i built my ramp out of 1" square tubing its holding real good but i built a lot of supports. ive seen some bulkier ramps with less supports but that tubing was all i had so you make what you have work right?

Use this but start out with the angle about 3" less at the sweet spot or you will have to take out some of the angle as it will increase about 3".

This is for 1/16" thick metal but you will find it easier to lock in 1/8" (.120 wall) metal.

BTP, send me a pic of your ramp. I am going to put up a page of pics of Rev.1's build by other people on my new site in the future.

for my ramp me and 1 other guy bent the peices out of 1 inch squar tubing. We put one end of the tube underneath our car hoist, i had the torch, and my friend lifted up on the other end, and when i wanted to bend in a different spot, i just moved its position under the hoist.

hehehehe
that sucks:p
i wonder why it sent you so high
was the angle to steep or something?

it was the right angle, jsut the hacksaw cut was too deep at the top, so it was bent too sharp, it wasnt a smooth transition...but i didnt really see it like that until after i crashed

The guy that bought if off me fixd it up tho :)

it is best if you dont use a torch to bend it use a long peice if you use a torch it'll wanna crease. i put allota supports on after i thought i was done with the frame just see where you need. the rev 1 is a good ramp slider knows what he is doin i didnt know anything about ramps but i knew how to work with metal so good luck

Hey Crusty how much did you sell your ramp for. In U.S dollars. Why did you sell it, just because you hurt yourself?

$500 US, cos it was sold to a friend.

We sold it because i wasnt allowed to jump for 18 months, so it was just being wasted sitting there....and i think my parents knew damn well that i probably would have hit it again in less than a year.

and probably wouldve gotten hurt on the 1st jump..

We're using 1"x2" steel for ours, and we just tack weld some supports between the uprights and pull down and bend the steel by hand. Takes 2 people for it to be done easily, and then ya tack those in place and finish it up.

My ramp has, and i dunno why 3" tubing, it is at a 38 degree bend. To bend the tubes it cost bout $250. I had a local welder build the ramp. Just gave him the specs.

Hope that helps!

good lord! 3 in. tubing that is massive. That ramp looks like a tank could hit (and that is a good thing). and what a nice setup! I saw a avalanche in Mexico nicely lifted with a fox shock setup and all the plastic body panels were coated with that Line-X material....looked bad as hell

I really don't ever haul the thing, it is like pulling a parachute! It definitely is heavy duty.
Here are some pics with it down.

When I builded my rev.1 ramp I used a machine at my school to bend the side rails. It was like h**l, cause the rev.1 doesn´t got the constant radius...but I made it....here´s some pics of the machine...

all that i did was make the right angle part of the frame then tac a length of round pipe at the top. then use tie downs to give it a nice curve. trust me it does work. lol:D
