I am looking at building a metal ramp and is wondering what the best beginner friendly ramp is.I am not a beginner at riding or jumping just at jumping ramps.I would like one I could jump from around maybe 40-75 or if thats not possible something from 55 ft. to 75 would be nice. Thanks

go to http://www.hessianaggression.com and go to the ramps section.
there are full on plans for the Rev1 ramp and it is good for 55-65foot gaps...
they were designed by Rick Distler (slider) and we've all heard great things about them. It's prolly one of your best bets

honestly, if u truly have good jumping skills already, then u dont need a beginner ramp.

Just build slider's rev.1, its agressive, but if u start at a small gap, and can control your bike well, youll have no trouble.

Alright some ?'s about the rev.1 and 3.I like the idea of the 3 being easier to move and lighter since I will be moving the ramp different places for more distance or less, but seeing that the rev. 2 is almost indentical to the 1 just with the options of the 3(like being able to move and light weight)would this be the ramp for me?Also anyone used these ramps? What were the prices of all the materials together? Thanks

gibbs_6,
The IFMA uses my Rev.3 angle for all 6 of their 2001 built ramps. I am their ramp adviser and the riders love them. Some of them have other companies ramps and everyone of them like Rev.3 the best.

I spend about 800 per Rev.3 and about 600 per Rev.1. Labor is the expensive part.

I don't think any of the others on here have jumped my ramps but if you send an email to any of the Hessian Aggression riders and ask them, they would be your best information as they have jumped almost every ramp, good and bad, in the US.

I emailed them and one recommended the rev. 1 and the other rev. 2.I think I am going for the rev. 2 seeing that it is mobile and lighter weight, but if money becomes a issue I will go for rev. 1.Thanks for the replys yall.:)

December 17th, 2001, 03:27 AM
Yea the mini boong ramp will be for my little bro., Hes only 8 so were goana make it exactly the same as samos ramp #2 but it will only be 1.5 metres tall. Unless your under 12 you wont really like this ramp, itd only be good for 60,s and 80,s. I still might just give him my ramp once i get my big ramp built, then ill set it up close next to the big ramp at demos and let him bust too.

Nex corporation
April 2nd, 2002, 11:34 PM
Yea, theres pretty much just me and lance in the whole area. There are a few ramps at wagga wagga but as far as i know only one other guy from there was doin seat grab tricks and he mannaged to fracture his back on a 60 foot jump and he sold his bike and quit. Iv seen photage on the local news of other demos in other towns around here but the riders are all racers that were doin half heel clickers. We should be takin the #2 ramp to wagga once this year and holdin a demo/band comp/Boxing (both male and female) and all that stuff. Samo was doin heel clickers, double cans, suran wraps etc. before he fractured his femur but he wont be riding for a long time. At the moment but there is no fmx,ers riding in temora, because friday arvo i fell offf tryin to do some berm reconstruction with my back wheel and jammed my knee so i cant walk for a week and a half, and on saturday lances clutch cable broke about 2 feet before he hit the ramp (it was a short run up and he was only just makin the gears befor he hit it) and somthin in his head frooze and told him to stay seated so he seat bounced the jump and it sent him flying over the bars. He went 70 foot without the bike and broke 3 bones in his rist so he is out for 6 1/2 weeks and out of the tamworth comp. Thats about all the info iv got for now.
Catchas all in another 4 weeks if i find somthing worth posting about.

Wagga is starting to really pick up with FMX! There is a couple of guys who are getting up there with some big moves(disco Cans, seat grabs,Lazyboys, big whips and other good moves) I was home on the weekend riding one of many ramps the boys have, They have plenty of ramps and some really great riding areas.. You should try and hook up for a ride..

Jay Jenkins was the name of the guy who stuffed his back, He was starting to bust out some big moves but after the crash he has sold his bike and bought a roadie!

Just unbolt it as hinges won't hold up to the weight and neither will you if your feet slip when folding it up. LOL.

Looking Good dude! Nice seat grab!

It is good to see there is some good FMX riders coming from this area as we seem to get left out alittle....

They dude on the KTM is wilso, he just had a big crash on two weekends ago at The Rock but he is starting to bust out some more tricks as I saw on Saturday.. I will be heading home riding again on the weekend and trying to get some photo's of Trento who is busting some big moves and leading the way in FMX in wagga! I am still learning the ramp and only have No Footed Cans and Heelclickers and Nacs and my fav a big suicide no hander!

There is no reason to orginise to go for a ride now in wagga next time your up and I will meet you at the jumps for a ride! More riders the better! :D

i have a rev 1 and i love it. i got the plans off sliders website. i have had my dirtbike since september but i go riding alot. i dont have enough dirt to build a full size landing but i jump it all the time from 20 feet (i know 20 feet is lame) it is soo cool. i cant do anything off the ramp (my tick list is pretty small) but thats because i have to hit it at 20 feet. my landing is about 6 feet tall. i have 2, 45 foot hits but the ramp is my favorite because it is predictible its the same hit every time. if i had more time this would be where i would learn everyting because it give you this floaty weghtless (i know floaty sound ###) feeling it is really cool if you dont ride over you head it is a good beginer ramp.
