i was wonderin if i should build by ramp out of metal or wood?? i dont really care about logevity just weight but if i can get it to last long i wouldnt mind. I can build it out of metal but it would be hard cuz i dont go a welder (my freinds got a welder i could use)or the doe cuz im buying a 2002cr250 so would would be ok?? if i use wood do i need to make and extra supports? the ramp plans im probly gonna use are the ones at www.holeshotdesign.com or the rev.1 ramp. thanks

Do yourself a favor, use metal. Wood wont last long, and has a risk of breaking with the force of the bike hitting it.

Metal is not expensive, and will last a very very very long time :D

A strong wood ramp would weigh as much as a metal ramp if constructed properly. The wood ramp would only last for a couple months or several rains, which ever comes first. If the wood snapped on you while jumping you are just about guaranteed to crash.

METAL!!! Just built mine out of metal and I can tell u it looks allot nicer, lasts longer, and wont warp, snap or collapse. Also a wooden 1 will flex as u hit it. I would never hit a wooden ramp, not worth it. It may take afew hit but once the rain gets in the wood it will start to rot, then it will snap and warp and ull injour yourself before uve even left the ramp!
