I believe it's supposed to open up your bike's entire powerband, especially in the low and midrange, however I don't buy into the whole aftermarket pipe business, they might make your bike look better, maybe even change the powerband a little, but it's not gonna make it a whole new bike, I run a fmf fatty on my yz, and truth be told I noticed only a little difference from the stock pipe, mostly in the bottom of the powerband

Tha main reason of aftermarket pipes is to smooth out the power delivery and make it more useable... when i first got my 02CR80 it was soo scetchy... when i put my Gold series Fatty and PowerCore2 silencer on there is smoothes out the power so nice... plus it punches up the low to mid section really nice.

are they only made for 2 stroke engines,or can you put them on 4 strokes as well and how much would an aftermarket one cost for...say a honda cr125??

honestly dude, i only put them on my 2 bikes ive had to dress them up. i get them for looks, if adds a little HP, i dont notice it, nor do i care. my bike has enough balls as it is.
