Here we are. Made by only by my chipped blood stained hands!!!It took me two days to make the frame and a few hours to put the top on! Its 6.2ft high, 14ft long and I wanted a 38 degree take off and well its 38 degrees. Not bad for my welding!! The top is made of 4 layers of 1/4 inch ply so it would bend with 2 sheets of mesh up the middle to stop wheel slip. Goin over it at the weekend, 2moz going to a dirt rider expo to Jamie Squibb strut his stuff.:D (the pic look old cause I had to lighten it up in photoshop)

thats a good lookin ramp bro. but like crusty said, you might wanna weld some more supports underneath the face of it.
you would be suprised how much force is pushing down on the ramp. specialy right in the middle of the arch.

Cheers guys,
It cost me 112 british pounds. The metal I got from a scrap yard (free), wire brushed off all the rust, made it and then painted it! Then the wood cost me the money. Not bad EH !!! Yeh the supports..... I saw them on the ramp at the demo yesterday, im hopping that the 1 inch wood wont flex too much if it does it should only take me afew hours to un bolt the wood and weld on a support down the middle. Been out today so 2morrow im going to aim to get 40ft mastered.
Oh n my name Pants. At school (3 years ago) that was my nick name. Now people use the word to say somin is crap!! unfortunate in it. But I still get called it so well thats wot I use on the net. :D

Nice ramp but you must put some cross supports in it at least every 12". I just measured my Rev.2 ramps flex on the cross supports at every 12" and some flex as much as 3/8", about 10mm. I am afraid you will blow through the wood when you hit it. Probably not at first but after several hits. It would suck really bad if you blew through it, even at 40'.

I like how you did not go full on with an aggressive ramp for your first ramp and this will easily be transformed at a later date when you get bored with it. Um, IF you can get bored with a ramp. lol

Ah star_fish. LOL
I have seen too many bones in this sport and lost too much sleep due to such.

Pants, best to remove the wood that sticks out beyound the metal rails. If you don't it will crack off if a rider decides to pull off before reaching the top. Within 1/2" would be OK.

Star_Fish you cheaky bugger. Corse i done it, no point in hanging around on these things or ull never do them. It is well smooth, sends u seriously high and keeps the bike nicly under neeth you 4 tricks!!! BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!
Started at 20ft for the 1st jump. I did it in mid 2nd and from the top of the ramp I aparently went up 8ft+. (imagen how high ill be when im at 60ft!!) With in 3 hours I was at 40ft. Ill stay there till after xmas. dont wont to hurt my self before then.
And i know its a little small but when uve only been ridin for less than 5 months and have to dig a landing from scratch it fine. I must admit now im at 40ft i wish i had built it bigger but never mind. Ill get some pics up after xmas. Later..........

It dont look all that kickey in the plans. My ramp is steeper than that. And its set at the normal angle of 38 degrees. If I measured it the right way, that is  !! Good luck...........one bit of advise, dont rush it, take ur time and it will be exactly how u want it to be. Later
