I'll get some pictures of the place where I ride if I go this weekend, for now just check out http://chillfactor.psyfx.com/photos/beckerlake05-20-02.htm . I know the riding that I am doing sucks right there, but it was the first time I went this year. I don't want to do anything crazy on my bike because it is so old, I doubt that I could get spare parts for it anymore. Anyway, this weekend I will get pictures of the whole riding area.

They both look like sweet places to ride.... everywhere around here is flat and dusty.... I basically can only ride on the one motocross track.... the next closest track is 1500 kms away in Alice Springs!

This is the only picture I have of the area I ride at. This is only about half of one level. The other half of the same level is to the left. There is another level below that of equal size. There is another level above that of equal size (where the picture is taken from). There is another level off the right and behind where the picture is taken from. There are trails and sagebrush between each level/section... haha. It's pretty big.

WaussInd
June 18th, 2002, 07:38 PM
By the way. There's only a couple decent sized jumps. One is pretty big actually... around 100 or 110 maybe? Then there is a pretty big uphill (the whole way) stepup off the side in the bushes somewhere but it's pretty torn up right now. Otherwise, it's most fun to just take a ramp out.

I do a 95 foot table at my local track...but its got a lip to a downhill landing so its not built up or anything. but then there is an 85ft table at that track also....they waste so much dirt on those...

No. :( I wish. That was my first time at the track, I was taking it real slow. I was only going about 10 feet in distance on that table. I'm going again this weekend. I'm gonna get more pics, and I'll post them if you want.

80ft table??

meh, im used to hearing racers exagerate their jumps! they told me the track had a 75 ft table atleast, i go to the track one night and the table is no more than 25 maybe 30ft MAYBE!

rule of thumb, take the distance the racer tells you, divide it by three!!! :p

Here is my place, it is the highest jump area I know of ( 7,500 feet). We just re-did it. The landing is super small and technical like a pace jump, which is awesome for practicing timing. My ramp is a little steeper than a pace ramp, and it throws you way up. Derek Burlew and Jesse Olson were over the other day, and when it was at 60 feet jesse wouldn't even hit it! In his defense, it was way dry that day and his bike was jetted for sea-level. Pretty tech little jump tho.

This is the biggest tabletop on our track.... it's about 25 metres long now. Back when I was on an 80 it was just over 30.... only a few people ever cleared it then.

Hornet
July 2nd, 2002, 04:33 AM
hey JSR, that tabletop looks awesome! i'm a big fan of tabletops. i know most people say that they're just a waste of dirt, but seeing i'm not a very good rider, they're a bit safer than doubles, which i'm a bit wary of.
heres a pic of my mates place down the road where i ride sometimes. we're trying to set up new jumps now so at the moment theres only 2 jumps. (sorry about the poor picture quality)
cheers,
Hornet

i'll have track pics tomorrow aswell as bike pics theres 2 tables at the local track that are the tallest ive ever seen there probely 10- 15 ft tall i dont have pics of those just pics of my private track but i'll try to remember to bring the cam next time i go to the track and i'll take a pic of em i can almost clear one of em with my 80 cause its sorta like a triple table top theres a landing in the middle and one on the end i know 1 ust to be 80 ft but the guy who owns it changes it every year and now they dont look as bigbut i'll get pics soon to back it up !!!

ive got a MXtrack and a bulldozer in my backyard. Now all i need is a water truck and ill be set. Its changed a lot since these pics were taken, i work on it constantly. Pic number 4 used to be a huge table(the pic shows the landing) but i endoed and tumbled all the way down the hill. I broke my collar bone and seperated my shoulder on that one.

Hey T-Style that's the track. When did you ride it? It's changed a lot this year.... we're pretty lucky because we can get away with having a few decent jumps on the track that wouldn't be allowed down south:)

Yeh man thats why i liked it so much because of the obstacles that arnt allowed down south on a MX track. It was night racing when i was there and that was awsome (also another thing you dont get down here) Um i cant remember when i was there. It was a fair few years ago now but im guessing round 1999-2000

edit -- maybe even '98

July 7th, 2002, 03:11 AM
Back then basically all the work on the track was done by me, I used to live there as caretaker so I would just jump in the bobcat and work on the jumps. You probably saw me race.... I haven't missed a night race yet:D

yeah id say so. I was there the day before while the track was being fixed up so i prob saw you bobcating as well. And there were kids on 80's over the back trying to jump something.

There was an off camber corner straight off a table top there to that was cool.

my riding place, its basically an open field with 2 mounds, we're building more jumps and whoops....lots of trails too...there are houses less that 100 feet away but no one complaints, its sweet

one mound is a 50 foot jump, the other is a small 30 footer but we're bulding a kicker to put in front of it to make a gap around 50 or 60
