start by tightening all the bolts, and see if that helps.

but i have heard that the 98/99 cr's were pretty bad with vibration thru the frame

try tightening up your motor mounts and steering stem, mine was a little loose one time and vibrated really bad

One of my kids works for Crank Works here in town. http://www.crankworks.com/
Brad: http://www.crankworks.com/DSC00038.JPG - hehe

Anyhow, stock bikes' cranks are not balanced to a very tight tolerance. Many factory and privateers send their new cranks to them to have them balanced to a 0 runout to rid of this and have a longer lasting and faster reving engine.

If a new crank is not handled carefully, it will get knocked out of balance and vibrate badly. (never hammer a crank into a case)

I know what you mean. He sounds like him too. And Robert and my youngest look alike. Still trying to remember what the milkman and mailman looked like back then. I think... maybe... NOT. LOL
