From motocross action's website,

Yesterday, out at the Cahuilla Creek MX track in Southern
California, a little fighting action went down between Chad Reed and 125 rookie sensation Jason Lawrence.

Apparently, Jason and his roommate Kyle were out for a nice day at the track, just doing motos and minding their own business. To start the whole thing off, Kyle stalled his bike in a corner. He was on a four-stroke, and it took him a while to get it re-started. Jason pulled up to see if everything was okay, when Chad Reed cut in between the two of them and pelted both of them with a handful of throttle from his 450.

Jason and Kyle were a little angry about Chad’s actions, but they went about their day as they were, just a little muddier. Then, a few minutes later, Chad Reed slammed Kyle. Jason acted fast. He caught Chad (on a borrowed RM250), and Chad brake-checked him, so Jason caught him back and managed to get past him. Jason hit a big mud puddle, splashing mud and water all over Chad. Jason wasn’t finished yet, though. He then took Chad out. Obviously, Chad was less than thrilled that he was taken out by some 18 year-old rookie, so he cut the track, layed his bike down, and when Jason came by, tackled him off of his bike. Chad got on top of Jason and pulled his goggles off and grabbed his helmet. Fists were thrown, but there’s no word yet as to who won the bout. Since Jason is in the top twenty in points in the 125 class, he and Chad will be in the same practice this Saturday in Colorado. There just might be some sparks.

wow sounds like chad was pretty pissed. i remember last year when there was a huge pile up right after the first turn and chad got knocked down along with alot of other riders . J. Rodrigues was int he pile up and his ktm ended up on top of chads bike and chad picks up Rodrigues's bike and takes the extra effort to push it farther from anyone elses bike and then decided to smack him in the head a few times.

Last I heard no fists were thrown and nobody got tackled off their bike. J-Law and Kyle were goon riding apparently and they somehow got Chad involved. Chad didn't like it and spouted off to J-Law and that was that. No fights and tackling. Just some words of wisdom from a seasoned vet to a young rookie.

The above article is from the MXA website. Who reads their stuff anyway?

I got it from the motocross action website. (as I stated above) I like there magazine and website for the most part, but they are pretty anti-freestyle and really talk trash about RC. So lately Im liking them less.....

Im not anti-chad reed or anything, but chad has always been an aggresive rider, even back when he was a rookie for suzuki racing in the supercross masters in aus, i remember him being knocked off his bike and then getting up and throwing punches at a dudes helmet, so not much has changed he was pretty young back then, but at least he never gives up, he is an aggresive rider but who cares hes an aussie going where no other aussie has ever gone before.
