shaving your seat

how many of you guys that ride fmx also ride mx? i am ready to trick my bike out for freestyle (01 cr250), but i still want to ride at my local track a lot with my friends. do you use two seats or just keep the shaved seat?

Ive just brought a second seat for fmx so i can keep the other one the way it is. (with my mad cover on it) so yeh .

I use the same seat. Justdon't cut it as thin. Leave about 3 inches of foam or whatever. All you need your seat for is turning and it's not that bumpy turning. Just don't shave your seat like completely flat and you'll be fine. Mine works. It feels alot wider though. It's tuff to get use to but it makes you feel taller on the bike! haha. It doesn't really matter though. Some of the best riders i know can't even start there own bike! haha.

I can't touch the ground on most bikes and i have to lean over or something to start im allways hoping on on foot to try and balance lol Im 5'4"

I can touch the ground fine. I just like the wider seat for some reason. Plus I needed to cut it for grabs.

i don't know how tall i am, probably 6'1, and i shaved my seat wayyy down. i use the same seat for everything, trail riding, tracks, everything.... i like it :)

I keep my seat standard, but racing is my main priority. I don't have any problem swinging my legs over the bike, and I can't do grabs so that doesn't bother me....

i cut my old 125 seat down halfway, it was alot wider, i liked it cause you got more coverage of your A * *. now i jump on my 00' CR and the seat feels so skinny, its alright, but it like forces its way up your butt and spreads the cheeks! lol :p not the greatest after a 1/2 of riding. so all i can say is im gonna learn how to stand up in turns so i dont have to sit and get "reamed" :p :p
