Does FMX suspension (setup for ramping) affect riding on the track/natural hits?

tracks & natural jumps usually get rutted and bumpy so i was wondering if it makes it harder when going over jump and whatnot..

i would back off a couple clicks if you set your bike up for fmx. just go to like 1 or 2 clicks over stock. usually 12

im not setting my bike up for fmx because i think it would jepordize its ability to absorb chop and chit on the track

i cant do tricks anyways and i dont ride ramps however..

i have some jumps out here and the landing is pretty rough (bumpy, and not too steep so i feel it clank once in awhile)

today i hit a 55 ft step down (it shoots you like 15 ft in the air and you get serious hang time) and the landing was pretty hard, it didnt bottom but it was a big landing and i only weigh 130 lbs (5'4) id like the suspension to be a bit stiffer but the compression clickers dont make that much of a differnce :p

I got my pro-action suspension set up for MX. I don't ride tracks to often, but i do ride FMX, not full time but most of the time. I really like how it is set up. When i went to get my suspension set up, i asked if i should get FMX or MX and he said MX for sure. Even if you do hit ramps etc...

on my crf i have not touched the compression. It only botoms when I overshoot., and that is only the forks. the back tire is yet to touch the fender. I ride mx.

fmx suspension setups are a a slowrer storke version of SX setup.... so pretty much its going to beat the living crap out of you on a track, i would just get your suspension setup for liek 10-20 pounds heaver than what u wieght in a regular motocross setup that way ur not sacrificing that much... talk to the guys at race tech.. or precision concepts or pro action or whoever and they can give u some suggestions....
