new suspension for XR200

I need some new front suspension for my '99 XR200. i was wonderin if 125 suspension would work with it or not. if somebody has some for sale let me know if it'll fit and i'll think about buyin it.

haha oh man, youve been jumping that thing havent you?? its a trail bike man lol, those forks blow when you jump anything over a 2 ft log lol. just get a MX bike.

I don't think it would work, even so, like ont. said it's not worth it. You'd probably have to buy fork legs, triple clamps, and a complete new front wheel. If the triple clamps fit, it would work, but I doubt it would and all this would cost you about the same as a really good used MXer.

Im tryin to get a new bike and my dad gets mad when i mention it. he said i should be happy with what i have (which im not.) and he wont let me get a CR85 expert because he says it would be going down and my 200 is more bike than that (which isn't). and he says i have to buy my next bike and i cant go down so it would have to be a 250 or up and i know i cant ride a 250 (unless its an XR and i dont want another pile of crap). this sucks. I better stop before i get mad and break something ;)

LOL i know what your going thru i use to jump my old XL 250R line it was a moto crosser (talk about ball basher) an i was thinking about getting new/used springs or new/used forks and worked out it's just not worth it, just sell ya bike and get a 2nd hand 125 that way you wont be going down

lol when i had my old XL my dad use to say "be happy with what you've got" but the only good part about it was cause it was so low i could get it real layed out in berms and beat all the 2 strokes

I'm only 5'4" so i dont know if i can sit on a 125. my friend has a cr 125 and i sat on it and it was pretty big. the seat height is like 37" or sumthin like that and XR 200's are like 33.5" but i'll look into it.

perfect you can "grow in to it" just shave the seat cut some grab holes or you could go for the 250 their usually a little shorter

i dont know, thats tuff, but i dont get this whole "going down: thing. going to a 125 MXer from a trail bike 200 slow stroke, the 125 is a step up, not a step down. i know the 00' CR 125s/ 250's have one of the lowest seat heights, like 36.3 or 36.7. but with a cut seat you could take off like 4 inches. 250 is a big step from a 200, but i went from an XR100 to a 125, takes alot of gettin used to, the power i mean. thing that sucks is XR's are cheap to buy and are cheap to sell, so it might be tuff, sellin the Xr and gettin a 125 with the money if you have to buy on your own, good luck.

I dont get the "goin down" thing either.
My dad's been riding since he was 16 and he's 44 now so it looks like he would be smarter than that. he's always talking about how he doesn't want me to get hurt so i think thats why he doesn't want me to get a bigger bike. it sucks:(

I went from a KE100 Kawasucki to a 00 CR125 I was about 5'3/5'4 and takes alot of getting use to but I'v not even shaved my seat you shoulda give it a shot M8

yeah man, riding is dangerous, jumping is dangerous, everything to do with riding is potentially dangerous. 2 wheels = not as safe as 4 wheels. falling from the sky = potentially dangerous.


good luck dude, you could proly fit on a 125 and i bet you that it has tons of power for you. infact i can almost garuntee steppin off that thing and goin to 125... you will think its a rocket. thats like going from a power wheels jeep to a V12 ferarri! lol :p
