So I've been outta school for a year, just like I said I would be before doing anything, and now comes the time to go to university or college. I'd be trying to get into med school if I went to university, which would be a good few years of my life gone, problem is, if I go to uni I can't ride, no money, no bikes or ramps or anything for 6 or 7 years.......
Anyone else have to go through this before or going through it? Riding is my favorite thing to do in the world but I can't just forget about the rest of my life.....and I'm lost right now about a solution, either way I'm giving up something big.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice one thing for another. Think to yourself where you want to be in 15-20 years.

Even though riding is your life, you can ride in many years to come, but going back to university in 20 years won't benifit you as much. If you get school over and done with, then you can work and go riding. Just don't let riding stop you from making a living in 20 or so years. I say go to school.

I'm in college now and I don't have too big of a problem finding time to ride. Just don't study or party too much on the weekends...in fact definately don't study on the weekends. You should be able to find one day a week to ride, but yeah having money is hard. Just buy a new bike before going to school and make it last for a while, or if you're really desperate for money just sell your body to the ladies.

got to the collage. My sister is a Doctor and she just bought a 800,000.00 dollar house. She has only ben out of school for 3 years. You can then build a huge foam pit cause your be old then
but you can spend all your money on a fat as# compound and then retire.

well its a hard choice, like Yamaha said if you go to collage now you will probably have a good job when your thirty..

BUT, when you are 35 you will sit there, stressed out and wish taht you kept riding while you still was young ..

lol, I know......I could do some sort of trade that takes like 2 years and barely miss any riding, but then don't get to go to school with my friends......life's all one big choice.
Quitting riding till I'm almost 30 would be a major kick in the ###, but so would missing out on a career.

Go for school mate.

In 20 years time, your thoughts will be 100% different to now!, that's for sure. For all you know, you won't even care about motos. Just go to school, study heaps and try to squeece some time in for riding.

hey dude, I think I'm gonna go for school, but let's not say things we can't take back :p
I've been riding about a decade and it's the only thing that's captivated me my whole life and I couldn't bare to lose. I guess I'll have to think of school as a break instead of losing it.

hey I run a shop 6 days a week 14 hours a day.I have enough time to ride.I make time to ride and all my famliy knows when I have free time, get in line cause im going riding.period.Its all about how much you love something. If you really care so much about riding then it will not be a problem. If you dont wont to end up like me working all time then go to school now and have people like me stay all the time running YOUR business.
good luck.

yeah I've decided to go. But time is not the issue going to university....money is......barely being able to afford to go doesn't help with the whole riding thing, I'll probably have to sell my bike before I leave. It's gonna be a rough few years but screw it, maybe if I can find a good enough part time job I'll be able to afford a bike before I'm old.
thanks for the advice everyone

i've been in college for 8 months now and i haven't had the money to ride or time for a job until now. i just got my first check today and it's going towards fixing some stuff on my bike. same thing will go with the next check. i haven' been riding since july and it's driving me insane. and i used to ride atleast once a week and most of the time a few days a week. but this summer i am definitely riding again as much as possible and i'm going to love it! go to school man. as crappy as it is i think it's the best decision... atleast for me it is
