YZ 250F

how often do u have to change the piston and rings on a yz 250f? if u have one please give me as much information as u are willing to,aslo tell me how u like it and what u like about it what u dont like about it, i am thinking about getting one............ so thanks

Im not positive exactly on a yz250f.. Im sure your manual will say somthing around every 20hours...
I run one season on one piston with my cr125.. Im not worried about slight powerloss so Its not worth changing it so often.
And my cylender stays in good shape.. its not belled or our of round.

i dont have one but...ya dont need to swap the rings ne-where near the amount as the 2-strokes do..and the 250f's hammer so yeah if thats all ya worried about i'd be buyin it if i was u :D

well, since the 4 stroke works on every other stroke, instead of every stroke, I'd say the rings would last twice as long as a 2 stroke's. Think I'd replace em before that though.

the piston will last a long time. My manual says that the rings should be replaced around 1000 km but im sure they will last longer.

As for what I like and dislike about the bike, it be to much typing to tell you what I like, so what I dont like is how I really cant do no handed landers. the engine breaking learches me forward, also how the seat is shaped. But I would deffinatly get this bike, its got tons of power and real fast, very comfurtable in the air too.

Thats it i am geting one for sure...... i just got a 99 yz 125 last year my very firt big bike but i really want a 250f bad.. i talked to my dad today and he said we will have to check into it for my birthday. so that always means we will get it. so sweet!!!!

you replace the rings every 40-50 hours an a yz250f and im not sure when you change the oil anyway the yz250f is a bad bike i love that thing its way faster then any 125 to cross my path 125's dont stand a chance. if you do wheelies alot check your oil before you ride everytime you ride because it spills out of the breathing holes everytime you do a wheely and after one year replace your valves for your front tubs cause if you jump alot they will start to leak and try your hardest not to stall it its a pain when its hot but its alot of fun to ride hope you get one you will love it bye

thanks alot dude i am gonna get one we are going to look at them tuesday when i pick up my tire so at least my dad is interested in i . he doesnt really love dirtbike like i do i mean he is down with me loving them and all but he would care if i wanted to quit. lol . he is always tellin me to trade that thing in and get a good huntin 4-wheeler im like if i can jump it and race it. lol but i am stoked about the whole gettin a 4 stroke i aint ever ridin one but i got a friend who just got on lke a ouple mounths ago bt i aint ridin t yet im gonna.':cool:'

no problem i hope you will like the bike as much as i do. atleast when you race you will have an advantege over 125's cause even "the works" 125 wich is a hooked up 125 is no match for the 250f stay riding bye

hey yea i got neighbors by me.although i live in the country cause my neighbors are all my family everyone of um. my aunt and ancle are the first house then my grabdparent(they hate the noise..lol...)then us,then my moms aunt and uncle and it goes on. i will also add the all hate the noise.but when i get it i am goin to do all my ridin out in the fields.we have so much land out here it aint funny.but we got cows out there. so i hope i dont hit them but the are only in sertain parts of the land. but its gonna rock.':D'
