ok I suck with jetting, and I'm pretty sure that's what is causing this: when I moved from AZ back to Lubbock, TX, I had to rejet cuz of the elevation change....and I thought I had jetted it right. It runs great and the spark plug doesnt look too bad either, but i'm spittin some oil out of the end of my silencer and where my pipe and silencer meet. This is the first time it's happened since I've had the bike. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

actually, most all bikes do this, this is really very normal. If it runs good i wouldnt mess with it, my bike does it, all my buddies bikes do it, and they all run good, and never have a problem

yeah its better havin a bit of extra oil in there then not enuff....and where its leakin at the pipe/silencer join you could seal it up a bit better because if there is a leak there it would be loosing a bit of power :) hope that helps ya a bit

i cant rember where but i heard that you run a bead of silicon between the join

yeah silicon is the way to go...thats what i use..and ya can just put it on if its not leakin just so it dosnt try to leak.

hey dude! try changing your spark plug too! i dont know how often you change yours. i change mine every month even though the plugs still work. just a small example. my bike was smoking a little more than usual, the plug did look like its normal self, i put a new one in and it stopped it real good!
also try giving your air/fuel screw a 1/4 turn to the lean side! that helps a little too! later bro

Hey, the shop will charge you a fortune for the rubber hose/seal. Just use some heater hose from an auto supply store. 1 dollar per foot.
Did you change your premix brand when you moved? Still, better to see this than not. Also, it may be time to repack your silencer.

i said change your spark plug. cause if he hasnt changed it in a while and its starting to produce less spark, all the gases wont be burned and the unburned #### will be blowing out the pipe. im surprised i had to explain that one

ya i put a new plug in about every 2 weeks just cuz...
and last time i just used garden hose for that seal...it worked great too, so ill see if my buddies at the honda shop can hook me up, if not ill use what you said Slider. also I replaced my silencer in December when I got my new pipe....ya think its time already?
and thanks Paul :) ill try the screw this week

I did the same thing as ont.freerider when my bike was dripping, just a tiny turn of the air screw to lean in out a bit, drip stopped, and the bike still runs great. cheap fix too :)

Woa, that is a new one for me.
If you have spark, you will have ignition of gasses. If your spark is weak, it simply won't fire or will misfire. Fire is fire once lit in an engine. If you have gas in the expansion chamber, it will ignite and burn as you have fire going out the exhaust port at higher RPM's.
Some oil's will burn, some won't. The brands of oil that doesn't burn will eventually go out the silencer or get caught up in your packing until it is saturated with oil, then drip out.
The spooge could also be caused by a bad crank seal. The right seal (clutch side) can cause this but you will notice your tranny oil getting low over time if this is the cause.

I have the same problem with my bike, i ran some rtv silicone around the joint and also slid the rubber boot over the joint and zip tied it in place, it may still leak even if your silencer packing still looks decent, so i would do this then you dont have to cleen it of everytime you wash bike. I hate spooge it has wrecked a few of my shirts. But i got a good way to remove it belive it or not your moms ("Oil Of Olay" face cream takes it right off) no work required?? Better than using harsh plastic eating chemicals like brake clean.

again, thanks for the replies....I'll prolly repack my silencer this weekend then...definately re-seal it....if the wind would die down it would be great cuz i could go run it and play w/ the air/fuel screw lol...oh well, thanks again!

i hear what you're saying slider. i was judging my post on the situation i had that i said about. so then do you have any ideas as to why, when i put a new spark plug in, it stopped smoking. cause im curious to know what that did.
may not be the same for dirtbikes but Mazda tried to get better fuel economy by having 2 spark plugs per cylinder to burn more of the gases.
p.s sorry slider didnt mean to sound like a smart a ** on my last post.

Hey, I learn something every day and was about to add this to my confused brain.
I can't answer your question but wonder if it can be duplicated?
I was thinking about this today. The CR80 we had with a bad right side seal was so bad it ruined 4 jerseys before I fixed the seal. Oil came out of the silencer so bad that dots of oil hit our backs.
Mazda and other car manufacturers like Nissan do or did this to get better burn in a 4 stroke engine and better economy. Top fuel and alky dragsters will do this too. They do this because alky and nitro burn really slow. I know, opposite of what you think.
I have never seen two spark plugs connected to two coils on a 2 stroke, yet.

some one once put a countershaft seal in the wrong way, on my brothers rm80, so it sucked the clutch oil from the basket into the cylinder, haha it smoked like a biznatch, but at least it kept the misquitos away..
