I do a 70ft jump with like a 200ft runway. I want to make a berm with as little room as poosible that is needed to clear the jump. Anybody know how far to make it away from the takeoff?

i think at a lot of contests, they generally have the runup the same size as the jump. or if its in a little arena, the runup will be even smaller than the jump

try different places for your berm, just start at different places on your runup and see the closest place to the jump that you can get enough speed and power to jump it. it sounds risky just jumping it at different distances from the takeoff but you will know when your as close as you should be.

if your berm goes vertical at one point you can go into em real fast and you will only need the same run up as the distance of your jump. most fmx comps dont have big berms like that and they dont go that fast into the corners so i think with a berm like that you should easy clear it

pace shows/events have been known to make as little as 30 foot runways, for 60-70 foot ramp hits. im not sure, maybe slider(distlers pop) has some info.
