5th gear

Ok I have a problem with my bike. when ever I go in 5th gear it skips like the chain is jumping but the chain isint jumping. I only dose it is 5th all he reast of the gears are fine:confused: ne 1 else have this happen? I thought it migh be the clutch plaes or something. my dealer wants me to bring i in so hey can look at it:rolleyes:

when you are shifting into 5th, or when you are driving in 5th???

id get that checked out. the gears might not be gapped properly or maybe something is worn out, i know you were sayin you ride in 5th alot. so ya never know, id let the shop check it out, but they will over charge you, thats for sure!

Tranny time.
The gears lock together via cogs on the side. These are rounded for 5th gear (worn) and causing the cogs to ride high and pop out and latch into the next cog....

yeah thats exactly what my '94 cr125 did in first and second gear. I finnaly got around to taking the tranny apart and it wasnt pretty! all of the other gears had noticable wear, so i got all new gears, 1st throuh 6th on both shafts. costed about 800 dollars for parts i think.
