ya, I haven't hit a ramp on my 125 yet, but from what I've read and learned you'll most likely be hittin it in third for the bigger ramp hits...but like Shaolin said, it depends on the gap and gearing...so dont take my word for it lol. Ask MyloMX or ONEWESTCLOTHING, they both used to jump 125s....they have a lot more knowledge about it than I do....

A few years ago i jumped on a 125, usually in 3rd.. but ive never done a ramp on a 125... and yeah like the others say, depends on the ramp size, gearing, and the gap......

try this out....... when i used to jump my 125, i'd hit most everything in 3rd. ramp, for sure hit in thrid. at my show a while back, the ramp was at 80 feet, and myles and i hit it in second on our 250's, there was three guys on 125's screaming third gear and hitting it. i dont think you want to jump in fourth or second on a 125(aleast a ramp, especially the super kicker). get used to jumping in third. try going at the ramp carrying speed, then kind of coasting, then revving it right as you go off. should work. also ramps work a lot better for both the rider and the rmapwhen set further back. you'll see once you hit it, ramps arent made to go short. so no matter what people tell you about "hit it in fourth, screw that, youll fly pass the landing and probably flat land at the least 20 feet passed.one more thing if it is a super kicker designed ramp, take it easy! watch some people hit it, get the village idiot to hit it before you! haha, good luck, jump safe!

I do a 70 foot jump on my 2001 yz 125 and I can't clear it in third. I can come close, but I can do it perfect in fourth. I've heard a lot of people say they can do 90ft in third gear on a 125.

it depends a lot on gearing, for how far the bike can go in a gear :) I know my stock bike sure as hell couldnt go 90 in 3rd :D

how the hell do you keep it to a 35 ft gap with a $#@king 14ft kicker?????

the reason everyone can jump 70-80-90 in third gear on a 125, is because its a ramp! its has a different trajectory then most motocross style jumps that most people like to build. look at supercross they jump huge triples out of berms, but its all to do w/ the angle/steepness of the landing/takeoff. third gear on a 125 on a moto-x jump might be hard for you, but it also depends on you riding style.
