i mainly just follow the service manual.

but basically, i pull off the dust seal, take out the clip that holds the seal in, fill the fork up with oil (fully). then i hold it under the tractor bucket, while my dad slowly moves it down, and pretty soon the oil forces the seal out (of course we put foam & old rags on the ends of the fork to avoid damage)

after that just pull it mostly apart, put a thin plastic bag over the tube end (thinner part), cover it in oil, and slide the seals on.

probably not the right way to do it all, but it works fine for me :D

i can do everything myself thru the manual except for driving the seals because you need the special tool. dont try anything else cuz you will ### it up, scratched tubes are VERY bad!!! if you arent confident enough take it to a shop

You don't need the whole tractor thing or adding oil. It would work i guess but the proper way to do it is to pull on the lower fork tube until it stops and just keep doin that back and forth until it just pops out. But if you have no experience with suspension do not try it cause you could mess something really expensive up. Don't scratch the lower fork tube and make sure the damping rod has full oil and no air.

me and my friend who is a mechanic replaced mine. i would have to look in my manual but to get the seals off after we had pulled the fork apart you can sorta take the inner and outer tubes and kinda use them like a slide hammer to work the seals on. it was weird when we replaced mine we didnt have a seal driver so we just pressed it in with a pick and a flathead screwdriver (be very careful not to scratch the tubes or damage the seal.) the first one went in no problem. but the second one took like an hour cuz it kept popping out! i dont know what the deal was but we finally got them back together

tried it, felt like it was going to damage the fork, and the seal still didnt come out. for me, the tractor way id fine, probably because ive done it about 5 times now.... ;)

You can make your own seal driver with a piece of PVC pipe. Just slice down one side of the pipe and bend it around the fork leg and just slam it up and down a few times and it should drive it down without scratching the surface.

thats what we use is a piece of pvc pipe that is slit down the lengh and a hose clamp on each end( not tight just to keep it together) and slide it up and down driving ihe seal in.
to get your old seal out just take the dust seal out with a flat screw driver and then the inner clip with no oil, spring or damper rod in it pull it all the way apart till it stops and close it about 4 or 5 inches and pull it apart and keep doing that till the seal comes out it shouldnt be to hard to get it out i just did my fork seals today and i did it that way and they popped out easy as pie
