Hey FullThrottleSMP, what's the tat on your back?:D

FullThrottleSMP
October 23rd, 2001, 08:36 AM
u like? its hard to see....but its a skull w/ 2 pistons crossed and coming out of the top of the skull, and they turn to bone at the bottom (yes, i did steal that idea from the TLD Piston Bone design) and the there's a tribal coming out both sides w/ gears on the inside....
that pic was taken about 5 minutes after i got the outline done, but now its almost finished, just 2 more hours to go on it! I dont have a more recent pic of it, but as soon as I get one I'll post it :)

FullThrottleSMP
October 23rd, 2001, 09:23 AM
im retarted...i guess I could go ahead and post the pic of the outline so you can atleast somewhat tell what it is! :)

Moto-X Alex
October 25th, 2001, 08:37 AM
The hurting comes when you branch out to your lower back, arm, etc. Feels like a dremel tool. owwie. Nice tat, can't wait to see the color.

I couldn't be bothered with a tatoo.

i cant whait to go to get my tatts, im only 16 and me old amn said if im gettin em whait till iv finished growin so they dont stretch so im goanna whait till im 17 or 18, im goanna get some sort of tattoo that has the flesh bein ripped open, with hook or somthin with the muscle underneath like seth and cinqs tatts, ill probly have it comin over my shoulder, then im goanna get my last name on my back, and some other stuff around that, then some more stuff on the other arm.

FullThrottleSMP
November 8th, 2001, 06:52 PM
ya i was thinkin bout doin a 'breakthrough' pice (ripped flesh, muscle showing, etc) on my lower back...we'll see...i have plenty of time and canvas to work w/ :) Wanna sleeve one of my legs ankle to knee, something on my lower back, and quarter sleeve both arms....I'm gettin mine finished after i get back from San Diego...and I'm still waitin for someone to scan the new pics....

November 8th, 2001, 07:04 PM
your probably talking about me! my dad won,t buy me a scanner so i,ve gotta pay fot it myself and i,am a little broke after paying for my ramp, so just hold on i.ll show you it soon dude!!

FullThrottleSMP
November 8th, 2001, 10:01 PM
haha no no no you misunderstood, altho I was about to ask you about it anyway :) I meant I was waiting for someone to scan the new pics of my tat so I could post em! hehe
But either way I'm anxious to see yours!

November 9th, 2001, 12:12 AM
so it hurts when ur gettin it done on close-to-tha-bone skin and it doesn't hurt when its muscle or fat skin?

FullThrottleSMP
November 9th, 2001, 09:29 AM
everyone told me that mine was gonna hurt like crazy especially when you get over the spine...well that was a load of bull. I know people are gonna argue w/ me on this, but it really didn't hurt. I'm not sayin I didn't feel it, but it wasn't painful. The only times where it actually hurt a little was on the ouside of my shoulder blades, but that's it. But it's different for everyone. I know people who got a little tat on there upper back (and when I mean little, I mean one of those gay chinese symbols and stuff) and they almost cried cuz it hurt so bad...so it's different for everybody

crustyfmx250
November 9th, 2001, 05:50 PM
lol, maybe were all just used to pain by now :D

It becomes normal after a few years of riding

FullThrottleSMP
November 9th, 2001, 06:40 PM
this could be true also :) i've always had a pretty high pain tolerance....but after i started riding it became insainly high lol..

time to watch the new clowers vid :D

November 22nd, 2001, 09:15 PM
isn't there a lot of nerve endings in the lower back? is that what makes it hurt more?

FullThrottleSMP
November 22nd, 2001, 11:11 PM
ya, that's exactly why it hurts more on the lower back. i dont know from personal experience **yet** but it makes sense. If you touch your upper back, then touch your lower back, you feel it a lot more..so i can imagine what a tattoo would feel like

mulcs
November 23rd, 2001, 06:23 AM
what sorta prices do tatts go for

FullThrottleSMP
November 23rd, 2001, 07:35 PM
it depends on the artist and the work....the more detailed and color pieces are gonna be way more expensive than a basic grey wash tat....when mine is all done, I will have dumped $600 into it...but its a VERY detailed piece...7hrs....but it just depends....to me id rather spend a little more time and money and get a GOOD tat than go to a cheap place and get a tat that fades in 2 weeks etc etc....

November 23rd, 2001, 08:00 PM

ive drawn a few tattoos for friends. mostly bio mechanical and new style stuff. they have turned out really great, i have had the local tattoo shop call me twice wanting me to work for them once im a little older, but i really dont want to be a tattoo artist! im still undecided on me getting a tattoo, but i have drawn some really sweet ones for myself if i ever do!

you get used to parents flippin out. but they all get over it. you should wait till yer 18 er 19 though....let the idea sit for a while...make sure you really want it. cuz once you start, its hard to stop. ive been getting them for 2 years now and i have 13 done. it gets addictive. but rushing into them is a really bad idea. what shops are around you guys?

how much have i spent on ink? not as much as you'd think. but thats only because im friends with my artist. i have to do some math to figure this one out. ive spent around $2000 on ink. if i had payed full price....my "Dark Ages Spawn" tattoo on my leg would have been $2700 by itself. it took 25 hours over a period of about a year. that line work on my arm was 3 hours, so that should have been like $300, i payed $75. it goes on like that. i made it a point to find stuff that I really wanted, but at the same time, my artist really wanted to do them. give an artist something he really wants to do, and i gaurentee you get a discount. custom work is ALWAYS cheaper. keep that in mind. now im off to New England Cycle to get some boots and the new Clowers video. i think its like 30 degrees out, shoot me. latas.

PS-here's a horribly lighted picture of the Spawn piece. it wraps most of the way around the leg.

PPS-i almost forgot, my exgirlfriend gave me lots of Gift Certificates to the shop i go to for ink, that saved me lots of money.

p00g0blin
December 23rd, 2001, 05:31 PM
are we talking about how muck ive spent on ink? if so, i agree...it is a lot of money....but when its something you love, you pay the price. and as i think FullThrottleSMP had mentioned earlier....you pay for what you get...good ink costs good money. basically, you pay once, you go through the pain once, and the tattoo lasts forever. not a bad deal if you ask me. i mean, think about bikes...you pay $5500 for a new 250....you ride the heck out of it....and you love every second of it...except crashing that is....but in the back of yer head...you KNOW it wont last forever. you dont have to think about ink that way. im so babbling. aight....latas.

dood... i wouldnt advise getting tattooed at 15..er even 16, 17. yer still growing. and yer ideals are going to change before you hit 20 er 21. trust me. a lot of good shops wont even tattoo you under 18 even IF you have a parent with you. be patient. dont rush that ####. its a life decision. latas.

RM_Rider_521
December 31st, 2001, 03:28 PM
I've been thinking about getting a tattoo since last year.. I have it all planned.. I've asked about tattoo's from people who have had them from all ages.. And they all suggested that if I get a tattoo, then I should make it in a place that can be easily covered, like your shoulder, or top of your bicep..

My sister got her tatto when she was 15, and she doesnt regret getting it.. She says it doesnt bother her at all because she can always cover it up if she needs to..
I've pretty much made up my mind that I'am going to get one.. I've asked my mom and she was okay with it.. SO when I get one, ill take some pictures of it..

Oh, its not going to cover my whole arm, or back.. Its just going to be a fair sized logo.. ( ive also thought about losing interest in dirtbikes and then having a bike logo on my arm, but I dont think that it will happen.. If it does, and it bothers me, I could always get it removed, or I could just keep it covered up under my shirt..

Why the hell would you get a Thor logo, anyway? That'd be a pretty ### tattoo unless you owned the company or something. It's not at all original, and it's totally pointless....

RM_Rider_521
December 31st, 2001, 07:30 PM
Why does it matter to you guys anyway?

Would a sevenind logo be better? Haha

I know what your going to say.. and its the same reason why I would get a thor or a fox tatto...

What did you mean by saying " dont talk to people that HAVE them...talk to the people that DO them. " Its the exact same thing..

I've talked to a lot of people that have them.. I've made up my mind.. So quit yappin

its not the same at all man. talk to a tattoo artist that does good work and actually cares about his customers, and im sure he/she will tell you to wait till yer older. for example..check out www.greenmantattoo.com they are a local shop here that is nationally known for quality work and being very positive to their customers..blah blah blah...check the site out. email one of them with yer idea and see what they say. i guarentee you'll understand what we're tryin to say then. im not tyring to talk #### about yer ideas er whatever. to each his own man, thats what i live by. im just tryin to help out. seriously, check out the site and drop an email. latas holmes. im at a party and im online...what the f**k is that?!?! aight, for real this time, LATAS.

i think gettin a company logo is pretty dumb personally! was it cool 5 years ago to get a nike tatoo?? yes! is it cool to get a NIKE tatoo now?? no!!! trends don't last forever! tatoo's do!

fullthrottle man where ya been?

p00g0blin
January 6th, 2002, 09:38 PM
company logo's? hmmm.....someone might wanna rethink that idea. if you love dirtbiking that much..save the money yer gonna spend on the tattoo and put it into yer bike. er new gear...er SOMETHING besides a tattoo yer gonna regret in 6 months. latas.

and the fact that they can be removed is no excuse to get something yer not sure about. laser removals are the most painful things ever and they dont completely remove the ink. and not to mention they leave you looking like a burn victim for the rest of your life. you cant tattoo over a lasered area....so yer stuck with a NASTY scar forever. same thing with cover-ups. painful as #### and they dont always look right. my whole wrist is tattooed black cuz a dumb mistake a tattooist made on me....and ill never be happy about it. and i dont think you would be either.

i remember that nike ***** now. i was 17 er so when that was going on. but it was scary.

i cant draw either....just go find a shop with a good reputation...then look through the artist's portfolios and find one that does the style you want. then talk to them and 99% of the time they will be happy to cook something up for you. just work with them and give them as many ideas as you can. if they cant come up with something you like..dont be afraid to tell them that you dont like it. if need be, find another shop. the main thing with getting a tattoo is that yer happy and the work is done right. if you have any questions....post em up here...im friends with the guys at a couple of the shops around here...and i have no problem asking them questions for other people. maybe they know of someone in yer area that is really good. aight...hit me up if you need anything. latas.

yeah! My new pants were supposed to be here like, 3 or 4 weeks ago... and there's no sign of them anywhere...

and the fact that they can be removed is no excuse to get something yer not sure about.

To RM_Rider_251 or whatever
Really, dude... just because you CAN get it removed doesn't mean you WANT to, or SHOULD.

Tattoos aren't something that was meant to be temporary. If they were, they wouldn't inject ink INTO THE SKIN. Removal of a tattoo is excrutiatingly painful, and there's always a big scar leftover... with little dots of ink that won't come out.

My friend Jonah had a big "Straight Edge" across his shoulders in two lines. He didn't sell out, but he didn't want the tattoo anymore... so he opted for laser removal. He said it was the worst pain he's felt in his entire life, and said he would never even consider it again. Now... MOST of the ink is gone... there are dots on his back... and every letter is a big burn-like scar, like poogoblin said.

Now wouldn't you feel stupid with a nice big Thor shield scar on one arm, and a big Fox head on the other??! I know I sure would... for a couple reasons.

Embarrassed that I have scars from a big mistake I made...
and Embarrassed to have such an unoriginal idea for a tattoo in the first place!

p00g0blin
January 9th, 2002, 02:01 PM
haha...straight edge tattoos. now theres another not so great idea. my best friend has a huge "Drug Free" thing on his back that looks sick...but still...not something I would ever think about getting. oh wait..im not straighedge. but even if i was......
