There is only so far you can push the crap suspension of pre-95 bikes.

That ramp is very smooth, it isn't that big its only 2m high, most ramps are about 2.5m or higher, do you reckon goesch could give me his plans for it

AusFMX
October 20th, 2001, 02:43 AM

Go to

http://www.hessianaggression.com./home.html

Then click on the Metal Ramps button on the left. That will take you to the first ramp plans to ever be posted on the internet. After 3 years this is still a very good ramp and still one of the most aggressive ramps out there. This ramp is still in use today, finding itself and 3 others rented to promotors all across Western half of the US on any given weekend.

Hey it boonga (liam goesch)
I noticed my ramp posted on this site, Yea its a real nice curve and i put expanded mesh on the surface with no under tine so i can see through the ramp as i hit it, ,, I do wish i had made it taller, but it was my first ever ramp and i didnt know what to expect so i only made it small,,, but a few of my ridin bros have also made a ramp and it it 2.4 metres high, i think, and abit steeper. Once i get my new cr for christmas i will be able to push it back a fair bit further, cause my RM cant handle anything over about 65, it really hurt when it was at 70... I think i have the plans for my ramp but there !!!! so ill draw up some new ones on the computer and send em to you if you E-mail me, they may not help you exactly copy it but it should help you out...... I think this ramp would be perfect for those who have never jumped a ramp or want to start out smaller.......

Later Boonga.

Hey Liam, is Mark.

See mulcs i told you he would give them to you.

Hey Liam, I believe you now, DV got to the photoshoot with bill and said it was too loose and he wouldn't jump, and the night before he was saying that he foot was feeling good and he was looking forward to jumping. He is a bull!!!! artist.

October 26th, 2001, 10:07 PM
he told u it was too loose?? LMAO, he told me that his ankle hurt too much :D lol

Has he told any of u about the time he jumped 370ft? :D:D:rolleyes:

AusFMX
October 26th, 2001, 10:14 PM
LOL, nah he didn't say he jumped 370ft, he said the biggest jump in the world was 370ft, and he said seth was a !!!!! coz he only jumped 200ft.

Yeah, bill told me that DV wasn't riding because he said it was to loose, aparently Noel got seriously pissed of with him.

crustyfmx250
October 26th, 2001, 10:21 PM
hahaha, he told me that he had jumped 370ft, and that on the 3rd jump, he crashed on the landing and broke almost every bone in his body :D

Hey
Good to see my boy samo postin on here.
Yea thats our other ramp, but it hasnt been hit yet. still waitin on a surface. For anyone goin into year 10 or 12 next year try and make a ramp in metal work or somthin cause your parents will have to buy you the steel cause itl be for school. Somtime next year im planin on buildin myself a 3 metre high ramp or maybe even bigger, and samo and carridi are buildin another smaller ramp at school next year and theyr callin it the mini boong, its gaona be a smaller ramp for my little bro tyson on his kx 60, should be sweet. Another thing im planin for next year is im movin our compound to the other side of our creek, theres a big empty padoc that me old man just keeps our rams in so im buildin a big supercross track and about 10 freestyle jumps and ill be diggin a hole for dirt and makin a dam so i can use that to do some dam jumpin off the ramp on the bmx,s. should be sweet.

up
all thats there in the photo cost $250 and when i get the mesh it which is $100 a sheet it will have cost $450
which is cheap for a decent kicker so all those ppl out there that are alwaays complainin bout not having a ramp and how it costs over a grand your full of it

cya round

I ran your measurements (approximate) and can tell you it will work good.

Should start to be alive at 70' for tricks. Great at 90 to 110. It will send you off very neutral too.

I suggest you put some X braces in the tall end and at the 1/2 point for extra strength when moving. Also, unless you are using really thick mesh, it may eventually bow between the cross members. You may consider putting some smaller cross braces between the present ones.

Are you going to seperate this at upright #4? (the middle one) That will make it much easier to move.

madshtick
November 16th, 2001, 09:06 PM
Im using the same mesh as boonga so the strengthe should be sweet and i welded the front brace in, in the shape of a triangle because there stronger and it is in two peices i just welded in anothe bar next to the middle one and cut between them it just bolts together.

thanks for the advice tho dude:D

well im buildin a smaller kinda stadium motocross track for my little bro in his 60 so well probly be able to take the 50,s through that and stuff. And i was gaonna dig a step up into the back of a landing ramp but i might make a whole new mound for it, thats about 3 metres tall.

Hay Nex or Madshctick what are the dimensions of that new ramp and how did you curve the up ramp.

And also you guys are bloody awesome!!!! i have a lot of respect for you fellas! you dont need the latest bikes or the latest gear you guys just go Big and have fun!!!
Keep it up Boys!!!!!

Glad you like it, it measures 2.2m high and 5 metres long with an upright every metre I made the curve by welding the bottom the straight verticle uprights on then bending the two transition peices to where we thought looked good marked them and cut them with an angle grinder. I used 50x50 tube for the body and some 20x50 for the transition (because it bends easier) bent it don tacked it to the uprights and measure up the angled uprights to fit and welded them in. we also used 20x50 between the 2 transitons.

I drew a pic to sort of show you how i did it that and i was board

Thanks man ,
Were gettin new bikes in a few weeks and #### cause since we got our ramps weve blown out fork seals twice, stuffed shock bushes, broken handle bars and snaped off the front brake calliper. But for any kids comin into it and are learnin , theres no point spendin heaps off money on brand new bikes and gear. Buy an older bike learn to ride then when your jumps are too big or somthin you should upgrade, cause after all learnin is the time you crash the most.
