hey i've been hit with the fiddy curse and i was just wondering if anyone has ridden or owned a KTM fiddy? i sat on one at the dealer an it feels alot like a XR and its a 2stroker. with tapered bars stock and it lookks like a 250 shrunk down i plan on jumping it up to 30foot. if anyone has experience with one of thease babie's please tell me.

the reason you wouldnt buy one is you cant race other 50 racers and xr's go forever

those bikes are so un-powerful with a 160 lb rider on them....no low end power at all....they bog so much

get the xr

ktm 50s have a centrifugal clutch (sp?) so the clutch grips once these pads get moving and with too much weight on it they just slip and dont grap, i know cuz i was riding one around for a bit.

get the xr

Get the honda, the ktm wouldnt be as fun because you could not cutomize the ktm, and you couldnt ride it in more residential areas also because the 2 stroke fittys are loud as hell and annoying.

ive ridden a ktm50 sx senior and they are so awsome. and who said you can get parts for them??? well your right.. lol..
ive seen tags on them, black and white plastics and stuff.. but serious.. the ktm has better stock suspension and also a radiator.

I cant see having a pitbike with radiators because you go down a few times and eventually bust the radiators all up and you end up putting money in it that could be spent on something better (ex. suspension). Go with Honda. My XR50 seems to be bulletproof. XR's seem like less trouble. Just my opinion though. At the races kids do go fast on those KTM's but thats with a kid on it.

my friends little brother has ktm 50 Jr. there actualy pretty strong. We were jumping it like 30 feet and they are way faster.i would get the Sr. model it has more suspension travel and more power.

I had a z50 as a kid, for 6-7 years i never changed a plug, never tightend a chain, never changed the tires, never even changed the oil, just put gas in it and ride. And through out those 6 to 7 years i had 0 problems with it. And if you want to race your fitty, you wont be able to if you get the ktm.

i'd go the xr50 because it would last heaps longer. ktm50s wear out real quick. my friend had one and the engine was so worn out after riding it for about one month.

Sorry for bringing all these old topics up.

I used to ride for KTM for 50s and 65's. I think i was 8, at the hemme fairgrounds here in CA. There was this table top, then a roller farther out. It was 70 feet. Big straight away in front of it. I attempted it on my mod 50 the last lap last race, i made it about 65 feet. I ended up being ok with a few scrapes and bruises. It was cool, i got to sit up and announce and answer questions :)
