Where did you find that picture at?

ps: anyone know of a 50 ramp that breaks in half for easy transportation? is it easy to do?

I think Hunkin knows how to make ramps, he has a thread showing his ramp that he built, the thread is titled "My new 50 kicker!"

The evolution 50 ramps mattering on which one can break into two or three pieces for easy transportation.

is it easy to build to split into two pieces? can these ramps be transported easily even if they don't split in two?

i made the second one. it's what i started jumping 50's on. it's a pretty sweet ramp, but i want a bigger one now. I have a pic of all the measurements and a few of me hitting it if you want them, let me know cause i'm too lazy right now.
it's waaaay easy to split a ramp in half. all you do is make clamps to hold them together. but the only reason evo's ramp is in 3 pieces is for shipping, not just moving around.

hey, email me any pics or measurements you have... if you can, send me an email and let me know what you did to make your ramp..

what type of materials did you use? what did you use to bend/etc..

one inch square tubing all around.
one inch angle iron for the sides, which i bent rev 1 style.
i forgot how much tubing i used, just add it up. but it was about $60 for all the metal, then about $25 for the plywood.

i've never built a ramp before, what advice can you give me?

can you weld? my welds look shotty, but they're sturdy as a rock.
it was my first ramp, but it turned out pretty damn good for being a first (lucky!) i researched for almost a month figuring things out and stuff, like how to build big ramps....but it didn't take much.
do you know what i mean by bending the tranny rev 1 style?

no, explain it plz!! lol im gonna build one jsut like yours:D

dang, it's easy to show, but hard to explain.
i used angle iron, but i'm pretty sure the rev1 uses tubing.
but i took my angle iron and set it on a side, so one side is flat and one is pointing in the air.
then i took my steel cutter and cut the side facing up all the way down to where it meets the flat side.
i've probably confused you guys more. but do you get it? dangit, i'll go use my primitive paint skills and draw a pic.

scratch that idea man. save your time and do it without angle iron!!!!!
i bought all 1"x1" square tubing except for the horizontal and vertical pieces. the transition is exactly 10' long and i bent it on a tube bender without uding the hydraulics so you can do it in a vise. its easy. if you cut slits in it it weakens it even if you weld the slits. it also takes time to cut it and then weld it back together and grind it flat if you want it to look good.

okay,
his way will save time, but it might or might not have a better outcome.
there's no need to be worried about the tranny being weak. the tranny isn't what's holding the ramp or even the plywood on top together. You HAVE to weld the slits. I never grinded down the welds at all. unless you're a kick ### welder, your welds aren't going to be solid steel, they will be a little chunky (my style!) which means grinding too much will make it weak.
If I can find one fault with hunkin's ramp, it'd be that there isn't enough transition, which is probably from trying to bend it. he didn't bend it enough, but stuff like that happens the first time you build a ramp. trial and error. plus if i remember right, hunkin's ramp is twice as big as this one. it'll be much harder to bend smaller lengths of steel.
my errors: my supports should have been facing the other way. it's still solid as a rock, but if i could do it again, i'd face them the opposite way. my transition is 8 ft long, plywood comes in 8 ft lengths, so no plywood touches the ground. i've got a bump about an inch high at the bottom of the ramp, which sucks....but trial and error.
also remember, this is a beginner ramp. it's what me and all my buddies starting hitting after we had enough balls to drop off a curb. i've hit it for about 6 months, now i'm ichin' to go bigger.

hey man, u should have just got one length of steel twice as long as ur transition, and then after u bend it just cut it in half
hoo roo

yup, next ramp i make will be ALOT better
and about bending a tighter transition it will be alot harder but just bend it before you cut it so you have more leverage. im not sure that will work but im gonna try it on my next ramp.

i think my next ramp (50 or big bike) i'll get it bent by some pro. depends on how much it is. who knows. it's crazy building 50 jumps/ramps cause you need way more vert than you think. almost half pipe style.
