there are alot of ramp companies right now, maily in the cali area. the ones i know about are rick distler's ramps www.fmxramps.com , www.evolutionfreestyleramps.com , www.freeridetechnologyramps.com , www.freestyleindustries.com , www.trickfactoryramps.com, and thats about alll i can think of right now.well kris garwaiuk's dad makes ramps here in canada but they look like crapola. also it depends exactly on what you are looking fopr in a fmxramp, they all have different designs and are good at every thing you would ever want. ok hope this helps, if you have any more ?s just post them and either i or anyone else here will be happy to answer them for you

i have hit four different types of ramps, and i have to say i like evolution the best. they give you this unreal smoothness on takeoff and throw you perfect in the air. not harsh at all. freestyle industries is sweet too, there ramps are just a bit less of an angle, and great for hucking big gaps. evolution i have seen guys hit it at 75 feet, but ryan hansen hit it twice at 80 and was sketchin hard, the ramp was about to take lift off! thats where freestyle ind. has the advantage. distlers/pace ramps have good kick, but freeride tech, one of the original fmx ramp companies, seems to make the worst ones these days. evolution ramps come with a set of wheels and three piece for $1,500, thats nute compmared to freeride tech's $3,000, or freestyle ind. $2,300 goodluck, logan has kindly posted all the adresses.

So onewestclothing, are you saying that at 80 feet the ramp almosts tips over!?? I hope not, but anyways. Since you have hit the evolution ramps, would you say they hold up pretty good and last? or do they get beat up pretty quick? Also, what size landing would you recommend for that ramp? Im thinking Im gonna buy one, but i am gonna make the landing ramp and get everything set up before so as soon as i get it i can go ride it! See ya

no,it wont tip over, i was exxagerating, but it does rock a bit, from the sudden impact. ev ramps hold up aweosme, actually they have the best design and attention to detail. arron uses two layers of plywood, instead of the usual one, and thicker metal then everyone else. landing, well our landing is about 14.5 feet tall, we have a huge safety deck, and it is about 13 feet wide at the top and tapers to almost 30 feet, its safe to say our lanign is way gnarly. its steep and perfect for the ramp. the bigger the landing the better i'd say, but i dont mean some hill side thats 20 feet tall. dont make it too small, your ankles will buckle. again if you want to hit one, take a trip to the evolution compound and hit arron's ramps, he even has a few other companies ramps so you can compare quality and the hit you get from each one. all you have to do is sign a release form and your off! you cant go wrong with one, tommy clowers practices on his at 70 feet usually, i've hit one at 70 and you get loads fo hangtime, i've only done this a few times, our usual practice gap is 65-66 feet. thats perfect for us.

why doesnt he use expanded mesh?

ok, that sounds cool. I thought arron told me he uses wood with expanded mesh on top? I was thinking of making my landing about like yours except for the height, which i might try to make around 10ft since im having trouble finding it dirt. Do you think that would be enough not to buckle my ankles? How long is your landing ramp? is it pretty gradual landing? i have my "site" looking at around 30ft with the prot. apron, but i dont have much dirt yet so im not sure if thats gonna be enough. see ya

sorry guys, i forgot that arron uses mesh metal on top of wood now, our ramp only has two layers of ply. yeh ten foot is enough, our landing is way big, sounds like your's will be good. oh yeh tell arron to send us some of his new shirts! lol

FlyHigh, your landing sounds ok, but the 1st chace you ahve to get more dirt, build it up some more ;) The bigger the landing = more confidence, bigger tricks, and less chance of landing short or overjumping :)
