Probably gonna sound stupid, but oh well. I heard that there was a kit you could buy to make a XR 50 street legal (just not for freeways and stuff), is this True? does anybody know who makes the kit and have any of you ever done it?

Thanks

where i live (pop 100,000) cops don't do shti about us tearing 50's on the streets. we've been stopped probably 9 or 10 times, but they just tell us to go home.

i was actually thinking about this last night... for sidewalks it would be great... i dont see what the real problem is if gopeds are allowed... would be fun!

there was a guy buzzing around on a street legal 50 in elsinore at the sano races today, (they had a freestyle contest too), well this guy goes charging at the smallest ramp and is front end high the whole time and slams down 10 feet from me on the landing, broke the lights, bent the license plate under to stop the rear wheel turning. was pretty funny since he wasn't hurt.

(o and these guys on crazy goped type things, they are like mutant gopeds, were jumping the ramps, 1 attempted a 360 but came up short on the landing and didn't get full rotation, another attempted to flip off the steepest ramp, but bailed and the 'scooter" flew while he dropped out of the sky.)

so does any one know where to get the kit? My school isnt leting me park in their parking lot because there's "no space" so if i could get an old 50 and make it street legal i could park it at my friends house cause its so small . Plus i would have a fifty to mess around on. Any one have any ideas on where to get the kit???

I ride mine all over w/ no prob.I take it to get taco bell all the time. get some funny looks in the drive through. I was told if a vehicle is under 50cc you don't have to do anything to it, like lights ect. like a go-ped. now if you got a bigbore kit???? I got stopped once and told the cop that and he said it sounded good enough to him and let me go.

yeah i think mrflat is right, as long as its under 50cc you can ride it around in the street you gatta be like 16 with a license or what ever though, if they let bicycles in the street i dont see why you would ride a 50

Yeah thats right. I ride mine everywhere. 50cc's and under is considered a bicycle all you have to do is obey the laws of the road.

number plate will be givein to you when you register you bike.
compliance plate is like a frame and engine number so it can be put onto the system

I agree with the moped thingy.

Where i live if its under 50cc (even if its bored they have no way of telling) its considered a motorized bicycle and you don't have to liscence them... in other words they don't need an inspection, lights, plate, etc.
So its on to taco bell
