We've been working lightly on the ramp, and after a few problems with the axle pieces, we've got it all sorted out. Now all we need to do is paint it up, paint the plywood, and bolt it on.
Here's a couple more pictures.

Yes, that is exactly what the winch and cable is for. There are pins that lock the wheels in place for towing, and you just remove those to raise/lower them.
I believe the angle is 38? I'm not totally positive. My friend's know.
Here's a picture that shows the third rail down the middle.

Looking really good.
I forget, did you build this out of 1/8" or 1/16"? Seems like 1/16" would be too thin for the axle and the Bottom Rail would likely break without extra metal added.
Ever think about this but with a shock on both sides?

isnt that a torsion axle?

Slider... it's 1/8. The shocks there seem like the might be a good idea... but the thing is, they would have to be detatchable on the one side (left on the picture), because that bar moves downward to lower the ramp to the ground. If we could find a simple way to do this securely (maybe just a couple bolts we could take out.. or some more pins) I could see it working.
localboy... no, it's just two different axle pieces inside of a slightly larger piece of metal so it rotates :) If that makes sense.. lol.

8.5' ;)
It's 10 feet with the wheels down where they are.. that's why it looks so huge. It's 8.5' tall when in place and the wheels are out of the way.

SEVEN IND. READ THIS WELL BUDDY!!!!!
YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST LAY DOWN A 16 INCH STRIP OF SHEET METAL DOWN THE CENTER OF THE RAMP, IF YOU DONT IT WILL SHATTER AFTER ONLY A FEW HITS, I KNOW FROM EXPERIENCE. I WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE YOU TO JUST GET SOME 16 GUAGE SHEET METAL, LAY THAT DOWN ON THE ENTIRE SURFACE, THEN PUT EXPANDED METAL OVER IT. THEN YOU NEVER HAVE TO BUY MORE WOOD OR DO ANY MAINTENANCE, IT IS EASIER THAN PAINTING OVER AND OVER, YOU WILL REGRET USING WOOD BRO TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!! I BUILT A REV.3 WITH RICK (SLIDER) AND HE TAUGHT ME ALOT, THE SHEET METAL IS THE MOST VALUABLE THING IVE LEARNED, I FEEL IT IS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO HAVE THIS RIGHT AS IT IS TO HAVE THE ANGLE RIGHT.

Yeah yeah... I know all about the repainting and repurchasing of wood... LOL.
But check it out. This time, we can get the plywood for free (scrap from a 10 foot sled ramp Dave built). We're going to use it until it needs replacing, and throw a little money aside from our business (Seven Ind.) and when the time comes for replacement, we're using sheet metal and expanded mesh.
Now... what do you mean by "YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST LAY DOWN A 16 INCH STRIP OF SHEET METAL DOWN THE CENTER OF THE RAMP, IF YOU DONT IT WILL SHATTER AFTER ONLY A FEW HITS"?
What will shatter? The plywood (never heard of this)? This would be nice to know before we bolt it all together.. haha. We've got a third rail down the center of the ramp... if you think that would help at all?
Thanks for the info... ;)
