how heavy should a ramp be, roughly, w/ no surface or wedge at the bottom?
i just got my new ramp i designed, but it seems really light.

Depends on what metal u used (wall size and size of tubing) I dont personally know. But like slider says the rev.1 will weigh around 1500#
U said you designed it yourself, did u get a welding shop to make it? If u did about around how much $ did it set u back? And get some pics up my man!

Yup, it took 15 strong young men to move our Rev.1 in place at the US Open of SX. Hense, Rev.2 and Rev.3. LOL Now, one guy can move it and 2 or 3 to fold / unfold them. LOL

it's 37degrees, which is what most ramps are....

I would double check the weight thing, cause I dont think that it would be too fun going off the top of the ramp and then aiming down at the ground? ( haha )

It won't be too light and it won't tip over bottom end over the top end either.
The final degrees has very little to do with it. It is how you transfer from the ground to the top that seperates a good ramp from a weak ramp.

You should save your drawing as a .jpg extension. bmp extensions are a windows default and there is not compression algorithym to compress it.
You have a good idea for your attachment point and just make sure you have a space for adjustments for uneven ground. Just make the hinge area an extra 1/2" space or so.
Here is your drawing:
